So …, for whatever bored reason I’ve started listening to this podcast called “Lights Out”. It talks about paranormal stories, but also really gruesome murders and serial killers.

Anyway, the two guys were talking about this room in their childhood house that could only be accessed through one guy’s bedroom. It occurred to me, a house I lived in as a teenager had an attic that could only be accessed through my bedroom. It was creepy, but nothing ever happened. Not that it would have affected me if I did. I’d have just chalked it up to my overactive imagination.

Anyway, it’s Halloween time. Who has a ghost story to tell?

If you think you've seen a ghost, or see objects misplaced in your home that no one remembers moving, open your windows and check the batteries in your carbon monoxide detector.

Oh, don’t be a spoil sport right off the bat. It’s supposed to be fun.

Or your house is built over the spot where some space alien sunk a teseract, ten thousand years ago.

I had a room like that too, access to an attic through the closet. It was dark and cramped and stuffed with itchy pink insulation. Not much fun, and not at all paranormal. :(

Always hoped I'd have some kind of supernatural experience. Alas, I never have.

It's almost like the supernatural doesn't exist at all!

Bats aren't real either. Ghosts, bats, witches, Halloween, slutty costumes, etc. were invented by the candy companies

I once ran forehead first into a 2x4... had me in one of those neck things and a wheelchair for a few days.

    Oh... not paraplegic experiences?

My dad, brother, sister and I stayed in an AirBNB like that a few years ago. It was a fairly old house that had obviously been added onto at least once, and it made me wonder what the original thought was behind that design. The room was good-sized, not just an attic.

Yea, I don’t know. Because the one in my room could easily have been accessed via the big open area outside my room. So, I don’t know why the original builder decided to put the door where it was.

My friend bought an old farmhouse a couple years ago. There’s a similar room in their daughter’s bedroom. But, … whether the original owner or a clever do-it-yourself-er since created a wall there with a secret door that my friend’s daughter uses as her secret hideout/playroom.
