This is why kids need supervision on the internet. This girl didn't protect her private info, and when she found herself on the the wrong side of the folks at 4chan, she starts seeing some real-life harassment. We all know that teens and tweens aren't exactly overflowing with common sense and a good grasp of the consequences of their actions, so maybe letting them have a computer in their room isn't exactly the best idea.

I have no sympathy for the folks at 4chan or anyone else so immature that they think all this shit is funny when directed at an underage kid.

Way i figure it, they don't have their shit together any more than her and her dad do.

Her parents let her, at 11 years old, talk about fisting, people's dicks falling off, sucking dicks, and killing people. She wears shirts that ride down and show off her bra.
I blame the parents. And she was a little stupid too because... Well, if she's been on the internet long enough to learn about all that shit, she should know what happens when you post a video telling people to go fist themselves.

I think 4chan is being pretty typical here. Yes they endangered her by putting her real name and phone number on the internet, and they were horrible to her, but any fucker who wanted to hurt this girl could figure it out on his own.

What's sad is she didn't learn a lesson. She's probably still telling people to do disgusting things.

Edit: They should also know that 4chan does only what is amusing. If they had held on for about a week without freaking out, 4chan would have gotten bored. Now she's forever a meme and the phone calls are likely to continue, albeit sproadically, for the next few weeks.

Holy shit, I don't know whether to laugh or just stare in awe and amazement of long term backstory that led to the scenerio witnessed. That scene was disturbing. The chick looked like she'd been glued to a monitor for months crying or not. Not sure why she's like this at eleven but between the rents and evidently her peers she didn't stand a chance in hell.

This young woman makes me weep for the future.

I don't disagree with the verdict of "Fail!" pronounced upon the parents but i got to say, i've seen such language from kids - kids even younger than 11 - and not all that rarely. I had to stop my kid from hanging around with one neighbor boy who had a very nasty mouth (and the friend he's got now is one of those kids who's a sweet angel in front of the 'rents and a wannabe "hard" kid when they are not around and i may have to do that again).

On top of that, there are a couple of other neighbor kids who want to hang around here because the wife doesn't have the heart to run them off - a little boy and a girl who are 7 or 8 - and that little girl might as well be wearing a shirt that says "I'm begging to be raped". she cusses like a sailor and she - I'm told, haven't seen it myself - makes an effort to "flash" any male she spends much time around.

girl is a train wreck - and her parents just say "she has ADD" and don't appear to be making any special adjustements to there parenting for her.

i.e. - we have a rule she can't be at our house when we are not home because it's all boys except her, and we - given that we know she WILL get molested at some point - insist that there be no way anyone can say it happened here....and her mom says her brother can't come if she can't come. which is fine with me but it illustrates how she'd rather treat the boy unfairly as recognize she has a problem with the girl.

with this family and with MANY more that I've seen, the operating principle for the parent is "what gets this kid out of my hair for a while?"

if that's letting my 8 year old girl roam the neighborhood flashing teenage boys...or if it's letting my 11 year old be a wannabe-bitch on her computer for hours...either without supervision, cool. At least she's not bugging the shit out of me.

There are a lot more parents like that running around than you might imagine.


(oh, and by the way, of all the neighborhood kids I've mentioned here - all of them are routinely left home without supervision, or left with a "sitter" who's only too happy for the kid to disappear for - literally - 7 or 8 hours at a time. We've had days when we had one of those kids at our house for more than 8 hours because we had no idea where to send him where he'd be under supervision. and all of them are routinely under- or unfed, as far as we can tell)
