Maybe it's just me, but I noticed something when watching local commercials here in Augusta. A lot of native Southerners (probably native, they have strong accents) aren't just white...they are pink! I mean like a sickly pink. Are a lot of these folk Irish or what? I'm not a historian, I'm just wondering. Very few of my neighbors are Georgia natives, so I don't know too many. Some of my kids teachers are native Georgians, and damn if they're not pink. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
I put the question to my wife, who has the same experience with Southerners as I do - one-a-year weekends in Westminster, SC. Her considered opinion: "They're all drunk rednecks "
