If you've been watching tv or reading gaming articles, you've heard about it.

    I bought it.

My current stance is undecided; I see the potential in the technology and it works fantastically, but the software has to tap that potential. Currently the only game I have that uses it is the packed in game Sports Heroes or whatever the hell. All games contained therein can be played with one remote, but I am seeing the benefit of having two. From the looks of things your entry costs are going to be $200 minimum. I'm glad I have it, it's a nice diversion when I get bored with other games, but for most my suggestion is to wait for the upcoming "killer aps" whatever they are and whenever they come out. I'm on the lookout for Sorcery and The Fight: Lights Out.

Here forward I will make further posts to this thread outlining my thoughts on particular games and aspects of the system as it pleases me to do so. Discussion started.

It seems to me that motion controllers have done well with the casual gamers, but even though hardcore gamers have been excited about it, I think the interface is going to require some adjustments for them.

The Move is definitely on my "to do" list, but I'm in no hurry. My daughter asked for EyePet for her birthday in November, so it'll probably be around then.

The next boxing game seems like it would be a natural.

This is Sony trying to play catch-up with Nintendo's Wiimote?

Not only Sony, but Microsoft's XBox division is releasing Kinect, a device that doesn't require a controller at all. Apparently, motion control is the next big thing in gaming. Although Nintendo has made a significant leap forward with introducing the technology, they've failed to win over a large portion of self identified "gamers" with it.

Both devices have recieved a lukewarm reception in the media, but I think most agree that Sony's Move device to be the better of them all... including Nintendo's. I think locustinferno is correct in that it's going to take a "killer app" for this to catch on with the general gaming public.

Killzone 3D with motion controls, perhaps?

It's more like the Sony execs were sitting around one day and heard that song with that line that goes, "anything you can do, I can do better; I can do anything better than you."

Quite right. I am interested in seeing how Kinect works, but I know for a fact that it does not work well. It is focused on offering numerous gimmicky experiences:

Plus having no controller at all isn't going to offer as intuitive controls as one might think.

Be forewarned: Eyepet is very finicky and requires absolute optimal settings to be enjoyed. Optimal settings include a well-lit room with overhead lighting, about 8-10 square feet of open space in front of your entertainment center and absolute precision camera mounting. Plus expect your daughter to be frustrated initially when the pet doesn't react exactly right. My nearly 3 year old was enthralled with seeing himself on TV playing with an imaginary monkey-cat-dog baby, but we only had the demo so it only lasted so long.

    YMMV, naturally.
