As you probably know by now, we've changed the name of this forum to "The Help Desk" to better illustrate it's purpose.

If you have a problem with a moderator's decision take it up privately with the moderator in question first. Then, if you can't gain satisfaction start a thread here. Any thread started as a complaint against a moderator will be closed until you've contacted the moderator privately first.

The idea of contacting the moderator in question first was one of the very first things we did at WF and I'd like to see us start using it again. Now, I realize that some of you may question my impartiality, but try talking things out with me first. I assure you that we'll come to some sort of agreement.

If you have any other concerns please feel free to contact me via PM or e-mail before bringing out the torches and pitchforks.

Secondly, please take some time and forumlate your inquires when you are starting a thread. Please provide all information you think is relevant and be sure to include links.

We thank you for your continued support,

    Elwood

    Threats and Private Messages

Due to the actions of certain posters, I would like to point out that if you are even threatened privately via the PM system, forwarding it to the proper authorities is perfectly acceptable and encouraged.

I will not put up with death threats, and the offending party may find themselves banned or their ability to send private messages disabled.

I would like to reiterate what Chris said.

If anyone on this board feels that they've been legitimately threatened we ask you to come to us. You don't have to take that.

We promise that we will do everything within our power to ensure that you remain anonymous.

    Re: Threats and Private Messages

We haven't worked out a clear working policy dealing with the new PM feature that will allow you to use attachments.

In the mean time, any harassment or malicious activity will not be tolerated and we ask that anyone with any concerns contact Tamar or I immediately.

I promise you this. If it's abused, it will be removed.

    Advertising on Wordforge

Wordforge is an ad free environment. The owners are not interested in making money from this platform, nor are we interested in providing a platform to support user efforts in that regard. Any obvious advertisements found in signatures or posts will be treated as spam and removed. Punishment for such spamming is at our discretion, and can include anything from a friendly warning to a ban.

Discussion of this policy can be found here: http://wordforge.net/index.php?threads/discussion-of-user-ads-book-pimping-etc.104263/

    RE: Advertising on Wordforge

Just to clarify, this does not mean discussion of commercially available products is forbidden. An artist or entrepreneur who is a regular member of the community who wants to discuss items he has created is free to do so. But direct buy or payment links should not be part of that discussion. People are welcome to post links to their blogs, etsy stores, etc. where the transaction can occur. But a specific "buy" button or similar on a Wordforge post will be considered as advertising per the above.
