She testified 8 hours one day, then 11 hours the next. Pretty sure "I don't know" was not every answer. And, she actually did her duty as an American and sat through the hearing - unlike trump. Nnnnooo . . . the southern states accepted the election results but saw Lincoln's win as the last straw in a crisis that had been building for at least the previous 50 years, so then they seceded.
Then they really didn’t accept the election results, did they? Prior to the 1860 election, they had Presidents who were favorable to them. Many of them southerners themselves and every compromise prior to the compromise of 1850 was pretty lopsided in their favor. Even the compromise of 1850 was still pretty good, until the fugitive slave act was nullified. So the election of 1860 was not really accepted, they threw a hissy fit over Lincoln and that hissy fit cost 600,000 lives.
