What are the limits, exactly? Someone mentioned off-board that it's probably ok to post them elsewhere although I find that hard to believe. That would defeat the entire purpose, since it would be enough to link to another board with the displayed PMs, opening a huge can of worms. What about information gleaned from PMs? What if someone told me they were going to the doctor's in a PM but didn't post it, and I did later at WF or at another board? (The info, not the PM) Better safe than sorry, I always say.
Posting a PM in it's entirety is against the rules. Posting pictures from a PM is against the rules. What someone does at another board is their business. We probably would have some sort of issue if they posted a PM in it's entirety on another board and it could be proven it was from here, but if they say, went to TBBS and said "Zodiac isn't here today cause he's at the doctor." Well, it's hard to say for certain where they got that info and even if it was here there isn't much we can do about it.
So it's not an issue of info, even if it can be demonstrated that the info had to have originated from a PM here? This all means I can publish stuff so long as it isn't verbatim?

I just asked if it's OK to post the content so long as it isn't word for word. A simply yes or no would do, instead of going into such tasteless, graphic examples. Oh what masterful trolling. I'm fuming.
This is because Zodiac thinks he can cause trouble because when I was talking to Tasvir at TK, I mentioned something Tasvir told me in a PM. He thinks he has some big, gotcha moment to cause a big stink over. Why play coy, Zodiac? Just come out with the accusations and trolling attempt instead of cloaking it in "innocent" policy questions.

You think I would just go about with accusations without at least first getting clarification on the rules, or wouldn't want a good understanding of the do's and don'ts in any event? Very well, here's the deal. No, posters or admins should not be reposting or summarizing Private Messages without the consent of the poster. Nor should they be doing it on another board, they may or may not get warned, it is up to the admin at the time and whether or not the poster whose pm was copied complains. However, I know what you're trying to do here, having seen the Troll Kingdom post. But in this case, Tasvir did not mind, so that's all there is to this one. Hope that answers your question.
Why? I did consider it an insult to my intelligence. I didn't realize ulterior motives of some sort would be dissected instead of answering a query. I'll be sure to watch what I post at TK from now on. But all's well that ends well.
