OK, so the black students at Harvard are trying to build a community separate (But equal) from the other races on campus, but NO! no no no, it's not segregation, no sir!

Do you need a safe space? Have you been triggered? Let the black kids have their graduation Mr. Special snowflake, and I emphasize flake.

In the real world, you don't get to dictate the racial makeup of the office, and most companies don't maintain separate break rooms for blacks & whites. Or maybe we need to go back to having water fountains and lunch counters for "coloreds"

Well, of course. Remember, only white people can be racist. Any other ethnicity is simply showing ethnic pride.

It's not clear from the article whether it's the university itself having the segregated graduation ceremony, or a group of students organizing their own ceremony.

If it's the former, then this isn't going to fly. Though Harvard is a private institution, it no doubt receives federal research grants and students have federally backed loans. Those should not be allowed for schools that practice racial segregation in any form.

If it's the latter, then the students involved are organizing a racially-exclusive club and should be subject to the same penalties a, say, whites-only club would receive.

You say that as if they wouldn't otherwise have a graduation. Why don't you actually read the article, and the the wiki page on segregation, so you might gain a bit of understanding on why this might be just a little fucked up, and then come back and try to have a discussion, k?

I don't know what's more laughable, allowing black students to stage a separate commencement to celebrate their "brilliance," or calling the ceremony "Black Commencement" and then claiming that all other races would be welcome to attend.

I say they create a separate "complementary" commencement for ALL the different races/ethnicities on campus. Latinos, Asians, Native Americans, Polynesians, etc. All in the name of fostering a sense of "community" and "togetherness."

Of course POCs have the right to exclude, we all know this. Especially filthy white devils should be excluded because of white privilege.
