I was wondering if anyone can help me with my ps3.
when I connect the hdmi lead to it and the tv I get the back ground music and even the back ground voices fine even the pictures ok but for some reason the main voices are either very very quite or non exststant.
I know the hdmi ports ok because I've tried it with my x-box.
what settings do I need to get it to work proper?
    hope someone can help.

    I can't help sorry.
But did you try unplugging and reconnecting the cable and making sure it's firmly in place?

I know nothing about HDMI connections and don't have a PS3 yet, but that almost sounds like you're trying to feed a surround-sound signal through a 2-channel playback device. Could be that the XBox is putting out 2-channel audio by default (or you changed that setting and forgot), while the PS3 is defaulting to Dolby Digital. Might even vary by game. If you're just using 2 speakers built into a TV, I would check the audio options on the consol and within each game you're playing.

Unplug the cable, blow back and forth into the hole, and plug it back in.

My next piece of advice was going to be that if that didn't work, try putting in another plug in on top of the first one to help hold it in place... :ramen:

it almost sounds like the settings have been altered when you're playing the games. Several games allow you to adjust different aspects of the volume in the options menu.

To be safe, go to the settings tab on the Xross Media Bar or XBM. Go down to sound settings and make sutre that your PS3 is using the proper setting to fully utilize the capacityof HDMI.

If this doesn't work, I'd check the volume settings of each game to see that all of them are set to the desired level.

Your audio is set up improperly, most likely.
