Not sure if anyone has heard it but I think its the worst of all the theme songs...and after the criticism of Chris Cornell's You Know My Name I think the latter is vastly superior.
Bond themes have a tradition of stirring controversy among the fanboys. I just listened to it and didn't think much of it, but I've never liked Alicia Keys in the first place. I'm far more concerned that the producers are stripping the film of all the hallmark Bond lines such as "Bond. James Bond." among other things...
Apparently it was in it but they cut it out. My biggest problem with Casino Royale, which if you ignore the lack of Bond hallmarks is actually a fine picture, is that the Bond theme doesn't appear during any of the action scenes. That to me is sacrilige and better be remedied in the new movie.
I didn't like You Know My Name when I first heard it, but it really grew on me and seems to really fit the movie. My favorite Bond theme song is still The World is Not Enough for the film of the same name by Garbage, although an attentive first-time viewer of the movie might figure out the film's twist by listening carefully to the lyrics. Someone put a video on youtube with the k.d. lang song over the opening credits... No problem. Scooby-Doo ALWAYS ends the same way: some asshole headed for 5 to 10 years of getting ass-pounded in the state penitentiary bitching about how he would've gotten away with his heinous and stupid scheme that involved dressing up as a creepy ghoul if not for "those meddling kids and that dog."
