    On my phone and on my computer I see this ” when I press it, it slows me to put in a quote.

    For example, it comes up looking like this.
    I then have to back space and put =user name so it looks like this

    Can you screenshot what it looks like? As far as I know, the type of quote with the arrow is supposed to happen automatically whenever you hit the "Reply" button.

    The code looks like this (brackets removed):

    Code:
    quote="The Night Monkey, post: 3179635, member: 50510"
    and you could theoretically generate that by hand by looking at the unique URL of the post you're quoting and the member's unique user ID, if you really wanted to, but you shouldn't have to.

    That’s what it looks like. Then I have to backspace and put =username then copy and paste quote in between.

    Then when I do that it says

    The Night Monkey Said:

    But no arrow.

    In order to get the arrow for that quote you have to put this in the bracket:

    quote="The Night Monkey, post: 3179651, member: 50510"

    So when I hit reply at the top it says

    Quote in brackets then Quest post# member # then bracket then my quote post # then my member # then brackets. I copy your quote like that? No brackets?

    You have to use the quotation marks (" ") too or it wouldn't work.

    What I'm confused by is that you shouldn't ever have to put that stuff in. It's supposed to just be automatic.

    To get to that point, are you clicking the blue "Reply" button at the bottom of the post you want to quote (as shown below, circled), or are you doing something else?

    Yes, you only have to add it if you want to use part of a quote without a lot of complicated editing. Of course, you could always just quote the post to open in a new window and copy/paste the info into your post.

    This is like I just want to put a quote in the greatest hits thread or something. I’ll try and do it on my computer later. It’s easier than on the phone.

    One thing you can do is use the "Reply" button, delete whatever you don't want, and then just copy and paste what's left into the other thread.

    The arrow shows up, but when I hit " which is next to the code selection, it looks like post #3.

    In your Wordforge settings, turn off WYSWYG and see if that helps.

    There's no need to hit the " button -- all that does is give you an empty set of quote tags.

    Go to the homepage, hover your mouse over your name in the top right of the screen, select "Preferences" and unselect "Use the rich text editor," then hit save.
