I looked in the FAQ, and didn't find an answer to this, so... I posted a few...*cough*...dozen or so...quotes...cause ya needed them...and I can't find them in the archive. I was wondering if they were awaiting moderation first or something? Which would be just as fine, because I think on two or three I frakked up and they will say, for example, - Douglas Adams (posted in thread "Mostly Harmless") But the rest should be fine... Thanks!!!
I can't even remember how one goes about posting quotes. If I could be filled in that'd be great. that way I can post loads of my own
Can we get rid of all those quotes rated less than 2? And I always thought submitting quotes was done on the upper-right part of the front page, where it says "Add A Quote." Done it before. Is there another way to do it?
I don't think the quote queue has been moderated in forever. I think we used to have a quote mod, but we no longer do. I'll go through 'em.
On the order of 100 quotes have been approved. 95 approved, 5 deleted, 1 for being a duplicate, 1 for being gibberish, and 3 for being what appears to be a dual flaming himself.
Yeah, like Talkahuano said, just click on the little "add a quote" bar in the upper right hand of the quote box. And quote away!!! I finally found my quotes when I discovered that you could view them by # - *doh*!!! *headslap* (Where's the :headslap: smiley!?!?!) Then I rated them, and now I see them on rotation. But quotes #1381 & #1379 have wonky formatting (and that last one could be made shorter, I guess) and #1378 has double "s, which annoys the heck out of me. If anyone kindly feels like deleting them, just do so and let me know and I'll repost 'em fixed so they won't keep bugging me!!! Well, I'm off to rate other's quotes because I have no life...
I fixed them as best I could tell there were problems before approving them, but the line width was only slightly longer than the box, so occasionally it would appear to come out right anyway. But the formatting issues were what you pasted or typed in to begin with.
Assuming you're seeing an entire page without ratings boxes: There are minor bugs in the system. Just keep refreshing the page until the boxes show up. Shouldn't take more than one or two tries, ideally.
Just a note for the future, fix the line breaks yourself before you post them... probably better to simply retype it than to copy/paste.
