In the franchise there were two deaths. One was the death of an elderly man who did not take care of himself. The other was that of what was a healthy black man at the hands of the superior white athlete. It is seen in the movies that white guys could stand up to the punches drago throws as he has sparring partners other than rocky, and no one else dies from his punches. One might see some racism in that outcome especially given that the movies do address racial issues.
