So I started playing Mass Effect on easy since I like the story and don't care much for stressing myself out with massive combat scenarios. I like walking up to a heavy and punching it to bits.
Are there any good games like that? I was thinking CoD but the campaign is way too short.

    what system(s) do you own?

Personally, I like to fire up a game Wolfenstein 3D.

Killing Nazis and gunning down a mechanized Hitler never gets old...

Just Cause 2 is great on easy mode. Your character is part of a spy agency sent to an island nation somewhere in Southeast Asia. Your goal is to cause as much chaos as possible to topple the dictatorial government. You have infinite grappling hooks and infinite parachutes--when you combine the two, you can fly around to pretty much anywhere, but there are vehicles too. The story mode is good in parts, so-so in others, but the real draw is the destructible buildings and equipment. Not everything is destructible, mind you.

It's a beautiful game world and it's a sandbox game so you can do whatever the fuck you want if you get bored with missions.

I've wasted hours messing around with the grappling hook: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExPkx5SnNY8

Saints Row the Third? Though I don't know your tastes, and therefore don't know if you'd enjoy the story. It's also not quite a shooter. It's an open world game resembling a grand theft auto.

Lots of non-pvp shooting in star trek online. The pvp is probably the weakest part of that game. Play an Elite STF and see if you don't get your fill of whittling away at heavies.

Borderlands - Unique and *fun, especially with the leveling system.
Bulletstorm - Brainless and over the top.
    Deadspace 1 & 2 - Scary and *fun.

(*fun is subjective to each individual's tastes)

Would post more, but not feeling well.

I can't agree enough about Borderlands. That game is AWESOME. I should probably just play it again. It's like they took an FPS and added diablo elements. You level up, you have a (minor) class tree, take on quests, and get crazy amounts of weapons. They're color coded, much like any game like this, and have different abilities and stuff. It's more fun multiplayer, but it's good enough single player.

I played the demo of bulletstorm, and yeah, that totally fits the mindless shooter thing. You're trying to creatively kill dudes, basically. It looks a lot like gears of war.

Pretty sure you're in PC only, but PS3's Uncharted series is an on rails joyride. The best are UC2, UC3 and the UC.

Yep, PC only. Didn't have consoles growing up, so my skills with a controller are somewhere between nonexistent and shit. :P

I agree with the Borderlands assessment, not too much involvement. It's the kind of game you can play while talking on the phone.

I would almost say Mass Effect 3 multiplayer, but only on the bronze difficulty. When I moved up to silver I found myself having to concentrate more.
