    My areas of interest are mainly wildlife and environmental conservation. Education for the world's poor would be second.

    the owner sold 50% of Snopes.
    The buyers are challenging him for control in court with multiple lawsuits
    the owner needs money to defend his control. Any donations will go to lawyers. lawyers are the devil's spawn.

    Sounds like the owner overextended himself. Got greedy.

    The majority buyer (40%) is also the owner of Salon.com.
