Wow. How funny that Pullo and even Vorenus ended up happier than the nobles involved...and a great last line to end the series... Gonna miss this series.
I had a feeling we wouldn't see a full-out CGI recreation of Actium. A bit beyond the budget, I guess. Sad to see the last of Pullo. I gotta go watch I, Claudius again now, pick up the story a few decades later.
I saw the first three eps and the finale. I'm gonna have to rent this season on netflix when it comes out.
That was one hell of a way to go out for Antony, James Purefoy gave an absolutely amazing performance this season.
Just watched it. I haven't seen much of the rest of the series, but I really want to know. Great stuff. Hm, was it just me or was it a little distracting to hear upper-upper-class Roman women speaking with accents straight out of Eastenders?
Somewhat let down with the final episode, but not much. Still, a good job nonetheless. Rome was an excellent show. Now I have an excuse to watch the I, Claudius DVD's again.
Yeah, I was really hoping Vorenus or Pullo would tell the elder daughter that Niobe killed herself. granted vorenus was going to kill her, but she beat him to it. I guess Vorenus' pride wouldn't let him.
Purefoy was seemingly channeling Joe Pesci from Goodfellas in the scene where he was practicing single combat with Vorenus and the courtier laughed at him when he fell.
Oh man, I'm going to miss this show like hell! Great end to a terrific show. My only wish is that it had triple the budget to show all the battles, and was three seasons longer.
The whole thing seemed to set up for a possible return of production, didn't it? I mean, we never saw Vorenus actually die, and if he survived a cart ride from Egypt...
