Rosencratz later claimed he believed the (subjective) sarcastic tone in my post was me giving him permission to reveal its contents.

The sarcasm was overdone, and had an image clearly meant to mock him, which he did not quote in that post.

I'm not contesting your position or expecting a reversal. Just looking for some clarification, is all.

Me asking him for information is actually the main point in the PM. And to what degree can someone paraphrase a message?

Its not warning or ban worthy, but at the same time he shouldn't be doing it. Something can be a bad idea and not be warning worthy.

But that's the only clarification I'm willing to give, lest we make the rules too concrete.

That is the first and only post regarding its contents, which actually is an important part of the message itself. We did not discuss our favorite color or time of year. He did not paraphrase a little. I will withhold posting the message for the time being.

I never stated there was another half to the communique, nor was it mentioned in the thread.

I have already stated that I don't care for the he said/she said.

All that is relevant are facts. You admit he paraphrased you, that is not against the rules, as I've stated.

I know why you're in here, you've stated it plain as day in your first post. You want him punished, and you are out for blood, and I understand you feel you've been wronged, but what happened is not against the rules, and nothing further is going to come of it.

Giving the general idea of or mentioning the topic of a PM has never been bannable/punishable.
