I don't have the link, but we all know Trump is trying to mend fences and do all the stuff Obama promised to do in 2008--before proceeding to drive everything further apart, literally saying "fuck you. I won. We do it my way," before literally losing the legislature and, eventually, the Executive. (And the Judiciary? How many Justices does President Trump pick? 1, at least.) But I digress. While I can see why Trump needs to heal things--if for no other reason, he doesn't want all his hotels burned down. But Rush points out this is the time to turkey stomp the liberals into oblivion. God knows they tried to do it during their brief grasp at power (and earlier when Bubba had the legislature). And here's the thing: Liberals don't respect the olive branch. They don't like compromise. They view it as a sign of weakness. If you're in power, you must destroy your enemies. (Because anyone that doesn't see things exactly as you do is an Enemy.) And if you try to be nice to your enemies, you're clearly a weak stupid pussy. I had somewhere I was going with this, but I can't remember what it was. Someone run with it.
Sort of a variation on the platitude 'the best revenge is living well.' If he actually does half of what he promised (less regulation, repeal O-care, reduce taxes, firmer on trade) our GDP growth rate will jump from 1.5-2% growth to 3% and up, which will have great impact on US. That's a pretty good stomp on the left - since invariably when a rising tide lifts all boats, the yachts will do better than the row boats. So up will go the gini coefficient, and the Bernie/Warrenite crowd will be righteously indignated. But here's the thing you won't hear even if it happens. When wage rates start again creeping up (they've been frozen under Obama) it will be the conservative economic policies that generated that improvement. But because of the gini thing the positive effects will be muted.
He has already gotten rid of the illegal aliens. They are "guest workers" now. Oh and the Kremlin erupted in cheers.
It's pretty amusing that it takes a republican president for Volpone to reappear after running away for all these years to resume his low level b league trolling. Says a lot about the character of the guy.
The Kremlin is happy? Well I'm sure they aren't trying to stir up trouble and would cheer whoever won - they aren't our semi-enemies or anything like that.
Oh shut the fuck up with that noise, you big sissy. Such tough talk from a guy who lifted up his petticoats and ran away when his choice didn't get elected last go 'round. And then spent years, YEARS, popping up here and at TK to have a sour little cry. Now, you want to be Mr. Big Balls. Fuck off.
Oh, you're so tough. No, not really. With your history of running away, I can say that most of the members here have had tougher shits then you've shown yourself to be.
Instead of posting, you should probably go back to your favorite past-time: having Asian businessmen polish your balls. NSFW link from @Volpone's video diary:
Happily, President-Elect Trump's integrity and bold leadership have shown me the way. Trump didn't need to become President; in fact it's a burden to him--America needed Trump. And he sacrificed a great deal for our great nation. I've decided that if President-Elect Trump can put up with so much for us, I can put up with the crap I take from you all. Join me. Together we can Make Wordforge Great Again.
you realize about 4 others have been running this shtick here for six months or more before you got prolific again, right? You are embarrassingly late to the Trump Train.
well they were long overdue - it was bound to happen. As I brought up prior to Super Tuesday it's rare to get a third consecutive term from any political party. Thus the Dems had their two straight terms, so that was working against them statistically.
Going by memory here, but I can only think of twice in American history we've had three presidents in a row who served two full terms: Jefferson-Madison-Monroe and Clinton-Bush-Obama. Trump getting reelected (and serving out the term) would be really historic.
With the advances we're making in life extension and health, we'll probably repeal the FDR Sucked amendment and let Trump serve for thirty to forty years, though he'll probably take a short break so we can add him to Mount Rushmore and US currency before we re-elect him.
What are you talking about? President, Senate, and House? Because the GOP had all three from 2000-2006. It wasn't until the Dems took the House and Senate in 2006 that the economy tanked.
I won't blame the economy on any party (or anyone). With few exceptions economics is incredibly complicated & interconnected and has a mind of it's own.
Volpone cool you have an avatar to match your name. Foxes are awesome, especially red foxes. All I have around here are grey foxes (which are beautiful in their own way) but all foxes are cool. I haven't run into any foxes this year while out deer hunting though.
