Are they throwing their weight behind Putin or is that the left's interpretation of the situation? I would say the latter. As for wanting to be in America maybe you can convince all the people at our southern border that Canada is better than America - you could use a big healthy dose of diversity. Maybe they can keep going all the way to the Canadian border so they can really have a "better life". Agree with my idea? Think of the children!
Joke all you want. You are free to leave any time you want to. You want to stay and change it for the better, then that's okay too. But if you think there's a better place to hang your hat (be it another state or even another country) then if I were you I would choose that option. No sense staying where you aren't happy, right? You are pretty close to Canada - try to seek asylum because you live in a dangerous country.
I'm not triggered. I truly feel pity for any American that doesn't think America is the greatest country on the planet. Plenty of people are trying to get in, but nobody's trying to get out - so we must be doing something right.
I feel like China's been the trendy pick for next superpower for quite a while now. Russia has the size and political influence still but China's very much on the upswing.
No it’s the former. Go look up what Matt Gaetz had to say about it on foxnews Canada already is a very diverse country and generally we are quite proud of our multiculturalism Do you not feel the same way about America or want those people south or your border in your country?
And I truly feel pity for any American who does think that. It shows they don't have any real idea what the rest of the world is about. Is America a good country? Sure, more or less. But "the greatest country on the planet"? Not even close. Look at American health care. Look at American social programs. Look at American politics. Look at America's infrastructure. Look at America's gun violence, racism, and attitude toward those people who are "trying to get in" that you like to brag about... Nope, not "the greatest country on the planet" at all. Sorry.
Ask your fellow canadians when they get back home. I see plenty of them down here in floriduh. I am not a fully willing resident. They are. They buy property down here for a fucking reason. I am pretty sure it is not for the company.
I have to agree here. I am not leaving america. I guess it is mostly because of the diversity of climate. You have everything you could want here except for possibly rainforest. Canadia is a lot of fucking cold. there are places in america where it has it's shit together that I appreciate. I would probably consider australia before canada for a few reasons. I am not really for leaving america because where the fuck would you get all of this in a country?
Fox News? Haven't you been paying attention? Their news is straight out of the bowels of hell itself. If I mentioned Fox News as a legit source I'd get dogpiled. As for your last sentence I just want what's best for my neighbors to the south, so moving right on through to an apparently superior country would be their best bet.
Cold War nonsense propped up by two centuries of American Exceptionalism. Globally, the only metrics where we're first are GDP (for now) and military spending (for now). We are most certainly not first globally in areas like access to quality education, access to healthcare, life expectancy, child death rate, employment, median income, etc. You're not going to turn into a pillar of salt because you admitted that some countries do some things better than we do. In fact, I would argue that we should be learning how to do these things better.
oh no doubt some countries do some things better! I never claimed otherwise. But weighing the pros and cons (not all of which you listed but nobody can expect you to) America is still the greatest. But then again I've always said that every citizen of every country should be able to profess that their country is the greatest. If you live in Croatia by choice, ideally you think that Croatia is the greatest nation on earth. That's just my 2 cents.
Nope. Not even close. You can like a country, and choose to live there, without thinking it's the "greatest country on Earth". You can like it for a number of reasons, and dislike it in a number of ways, but still think that, over all it's a good place to be. (I love France, and there are many things about France that suit me very well. But there are also things that frustrate me no end...) When you add in factors like you speak the language, you know your way around, you have family and friends there, or that's where your work is, you might have a very strong motivation to stay there. But that doesn't require you to think it is the best country on Earth. That macho chauvanism that claims that your country is better than any other country doesn't do anything to help you get along with people from other countries. And if your attitude is that people from other countries don't count and their opinion doesn't matter, then that's just another demonstration that your country is not the "greatest on the planet", because true greatness doesn't have that attitude. True greatness is measured by how much you care about others, not how much you think you're better than they are.
I really like living in Idaho (just in case anyone hasn't figured that out) but I also recognize that it's less than perfect and living here may not be to everyone's taste. It beats the shit out of Florida. One huge problem is the disconnect between the legislature and the citizens, which I hope citizens are slowly becoming aware of. Contrast that with Florida where the legislature and the governor represent the people all too well.
So basically, if one country tries something and it turns out to be a good idea, everyone should just move to that country instead of trying to use that idea to improve their own home?
This has nothing to do with "macho chauvanism" and everything to do with pride and loyalty in your homeland. IMHO there's nothing wrong with that.
Telling someone who thinks there are problems in my country to move has nothing to do with pride and loyalty. It's being an asshole.
