Boston has a mixed record on racial harmony, so it always makes a good target. A guy tweeted after Saturday's Bruins-Canadiens game that #nigger was trending in Boston after a black player scored a goal for Montreal. But thing is, he made it up. Doesn't matter, because the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. took the tweet as gospel and ran with the story. Soon it was picked up by others, rinse and repeat. Is there any effort at fact checking? I mean, I realize this is a fairly minor thing, it's not like swallowing the lies told by powerful politicians to justify starting a war, but if you can't verify, don't report. That should be drilled in on day one of journalism school. So now, Bruins fans get painted as racists by the main stream press, all based on a lie that looked appealing to somebody at the CBC, no doubt pissed that his team lost. http://boston.barstoolsports.com/ra...-evidence-to-back-up-because-it-didnt-happen/
Because it's so important to be the first accuracy or truth suffers. Media will always be like that. Also (at least here in Augusta GA) most media people are dumb as dog shit. Even when they aren't in a hurry they still get everything wrong.
There were racist tweets sent out after Subban scored the goal, but I think anyone with half a brain knows Bruins fans aren't a bunch of racists. You definitely are all degenerates though.
Oh definitely there were a few racist tweets, and thousands more saying, "don't be an ass with your 'nigger' shit." All of that added to the trend, of course, but few were actually racist comments. Degenerate I can accept, that's definitely accurate.
When I was in Baltimore, I went to a Red Sox - Orioles game at Camden Yards. I had to sit in the outfield with SEVERAL sections of Red Sox fans. Salt of the Earth type of People..
http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/bru...d-for-squirting-water-at-p-k-subban-1.2639114 Yep... Boston is a real class act. Unfortunately, I think they're going to win this series. Which is too bad, because Boston has clearly demonstrated that they don't deserve it.
CBC again, huh? Looks like the Canuckistan state media wants to double down on the stupid. Sucks for Canada that they can't even win at their national sport.
How many Canadian teams are in the semi-finals? Is it just the one? That seems kind of lame for your national sport.
The correct question to ask is: how many Canadians play for those teams? The city where the team is actually located has little relevance in this day and age. Players in any professional sport go to where the money is, and certainly the United States pays a shitload of money for good players. After all, your country needs the bread and circuses to distract the masses from just how badly they're getting fucked. Nonetheless.... SUCK IT BOSTON!!!
How long has it been since a Canadian team won the cup? What is that, more than two decades? But don't distress, I'm sure you are still the queens of curling.
Again, your point is entirely irrelevant (as is your city). Pull all the Canadians out of the NHL and professional hockey as we know it collapses. Period. Hockey teams located in Canada simply can't compete with the U.S. dollar and salaries paid by American teams. So most hockey players move south. I think your typical dumbass American hockey fan might be surprised to learn that he's cheering for a team with more than 50% Canadian citizens (and in some cases as high as 75% or more).
Agreed, places with winning cultures attract the talent. Most Canadian players prefer to play in better cities, like Boston and Los Angeles.
Well I think we can all agree that the reason Canadian teams aren't faring so well is because they have too many Americans and Euroweenies on their teams.
I'm torn between my utter loathing of massholes and ridicule of Canuckistanis. Damn talk about a Sophie's Choice.
