A world where everyone's out to kill you and the barbarians are constantly outside the gates makes for much better cinema. Nobody wants to watch a movie where Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock board a bus, stare out the window while listening to the fat guy across the aisle snore for two hours, then get off. But it would be pretty realistic.
It's also much more realistic, given what Obama has wrought. Not a lot of sitcoms are set in Syria, Iraq, or Libya these days. "Remember Paris?" "Who could forget! The blood, the screaming, the bodies piled in heaps!"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aaron_Sorkin Note the play "A Few Good Men" was originally a play written by Sorkin based on a real case of ordered hazing (and near death) at the base in Cuba.
"Based on". Not "Completely cut and paste the same story. " Obviously, any film is going to take some creative license to have the story flow, because movies are a visual medium and a literal translation of the text won't capture well on screen (ie, the fake out last battle of the Twilight series).
Progress in California! Democrat Representative Sanchez said: “We let the assault weapons ban, which was led by our senator Dianne Feinstein , we let that lapse. So you know, multiautomatic round weapons are easily available, even though not in California, but they can cross the state line, as you know,” I have a multiautomatic weapon. A round one. Took it off a Jaffa on 32X987. Okay, what the fuck does she mean or is she just throwing syllables out there? And she's one of the typical morons who Democrats turn to for gun control legislation. No wonder it never fucking works. "I assure you officer, this weapon is not at all round. Nor is it multiautomatic."
Might be related to the tech the Pointer Sisters were singing about: Look what you're doing to me I'm utterly at your whim All of my defenses down Your camera looks through me With it's X-ray vision And all systems run aground All I can manage to push from my lips Is a stream of absurdities Every word I intended to speak Winds up locked in a circuitry No way to control it It's totally automatic Whenever you're around I'm walking blindfolded Completely automatic All of my systems are down Down, down, down Automatic (automatic) Automatic (automatic) Seems to be some kind of scanner combined with an X-ray or electromagnetic pulse energy weapon that affects visual and auditory processing along with higher brain functions. Someone must have zapped Rep. Sanchez with it.
Those people are being hit with Bible passages they've never heard on a sidewalk study. Not surprisingly, no Christians follow those passages because we studied the hell out of the Bible and only give it limited credence, even among Biblical scholars. In contrast, Muslims cannot reject a single word of the Koran or reject the Hadith because they'd be apostates who must be hideously murdered. They can't even think the thoughts we do, lest they die. If you tried to surprise a Muslim with a violent passage from the Koran that says to kill the infidel they would probably not say it was from the Bible, they'd probably just kill you on the spot. We reject. They embrace.
What's so funny? I have two multiautomatic round weapons and a heat seeking exapandable missile.......in my pants!
Multiautomatic is a new one. I've also heard that the shooters had a thirty-clip, and you're only allowed to have a ten-clip in CA.
Until that photo was released her in-laws had no idea what she looked like! They'd never seen her without a veil.
It seems MAohS was correct. The lawyer hired by the Farook family after their son and his girlfriend declared allegiance to ISIS and attacked a Holiday party is now claiming the terrorist attack never happened. He is claiming it was a false flag operation by the government, just like the Sandy Hook massacre, to bring about gun control. Yet the right wing gun nuts are eating this shit up.
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/san-bernardino-shooting-isis-tashfeen-malik-pledge-allegiance/ ISIS praises the recent terrorist attacks in San Bernardino saying they were supporters of ISIS. They then called on muslims living among the in feels to carry out more such attacks until everyone either converts to Islam or is killed.
The news is saying the happy couple had an IED FACTORY in their home. Well all the Californians on wordforge are always bragging about how they lead the country in manufacturing!
Well then why were you paying that guys salary? (Or at leas the people who lived in that county). Have you noticed that nobody in the media is really talking about how one of the attackers was a woman, much less a mother? She was reportedly worse than the man! Obama accuses Americans of being afraid of widows and orphans. Well, we just got a bunch more of them created courtesy of his lax policies, including a new orphan whose parents were both ISIS terrorists. Yeah. California is stuck with a bunch of dead county workers and a jihadist anchor baby that the state will have to pay for.
Overheard: *knock knock* *California woman answers the door* "Hello ma'am, I'm from the San Bernardino County Department of ..." "Aeeeiiiieee!!!!! Go away!!!" "Oh, hold on ma'am. I'm actually an ISIS sleeper agent." "Oh thank God! You had me terrified for a second." "Yeah, I get that a lot." "Since you're an ISIS agent working for the county, could you kill the people who gave me..." *ruffles through some papers* "... this fine for water usage, this notice about the pear tree in the back, this one about recycling fines, and this one about an endangered lizard? Oh, and this one about a car inspection!" "No problem, ma'am. I'll decapitate those mother fuckers." "That you! You are too kind!" That's probably how it started in Syria.
I get why the President, and many people in general, want stricter gun control laws. The problem is that this country is flooded with guns. It's like saying "we need better locks on the barn door" after the entire herd of horses have escaped. Yeah, that might work for future generations, but what do you do about the ones already out there? Stronger locks aren't going to bring them back, how do you address that issue? Stricter gun control might help, but at the same time, how do you deal with the millions of guns already out there without infringing upon the rights of legal gun owners? Better mental health policies? Yes. Close currently exploited loopholes? Yes. Enforce already existing gun control laws? Yes. I'll be interested in seeing what the President is going to say Sunday night, and how he plans on approaching the issue. Either way he goes he'll be both praised and excoriated depending upon your point of view. I think most people will be reasonable, and open to a real conversation, but then I've overestimated humanity before, so we'll see. I mean, if it were up to Ted Nugent, liberals would be cleansed of this country, so we should probably ignore that crazy ass son-of-a-bitch (seriously, Nugent, go fuck yourself). We need to ignore the assholes on both sides. This shooting was a tragedy, I do believe we need to take action, but I am not certain what action should be taken. This is all just a clusterfuck. P.S. Go fuck yourself Ted Nugent.
The shooting was not a tragedy. According to Attorney General Loretta Lynch it was "a wonderful moment".
She also went on to say she'll prosecute anti-Muslim rhetoric. Mediate story In remarks before the Muslim Advocates Dinner Thursday night, Attorney General Loretta Lynch told attendees that the Justice Department will take action against “anti-Muslim rhetoric” and “violent talk.” “Now obviously this is a country that is based on free speech,” she said. “but when it edges towards violence, when we see the potential for someone lifting that mantle of anti-Muslim rhetoric or, as we saw after 9/11, violence against individuals… when we see that, we will take action.” It's a good think Farook's neighbor didn't warn the police that six Muslims were making pipe bombs next door, or not only would be be targeted as a racist fear-monger, but he'd be prosecuted for anti-Muslim hate speech. The beatings will continue until morale improves.
