No investment tips for you, my friend. Enough people die from lack of medication every day. I'm not helping you find a way to profit from their deaths.
And you bitch about that more than Dinner's racism. Or Ramen's racism. Or Dayton's racism. Or Tuttle's racism. Or TLS's homophobia. Or Dayton's homophobia. Or Dayton's misogyny. Or Dayton's religious bigotry. Or Dayton's jingoism. Or Tuttle's jingoism. Or Dinner's jingoism. Or....well, you get the idea. But goddammit, you'd better agree with Lanzman on economics!
Too many big players already, would be tough to start up and compete even on a niche level Besides, I don't profit on people's deaths/blood/suffering and don't really feel the need to start doing so
It is true. There are people who have no idea that when they buy a Willy Wonka chocolate bar, they contribute to a company that partakes in some of the most vicious human rights abuses on modern record (Nestle owns Willy Wonka). Money flows through coffers that have bloodied their hands in human trafficking, in deforestation of protected lands, hell, the same company that owns Chiquita (United Fruit Company) actively funded death squads to repress workers who fought against slave conditions back in the 1950s. It’s not as innocuous as it seems.
That reminds me, no Pepsi, Mountain Dew, or Quaker Oats for awhile. Look up where palm oil comes from. Kellogg's finally cleaned up their act (so you can have corn flakes and Pop-Tarts again), but Pepsico is digging their heels in.
Yep. I don’t fault people for buying these things, because a handful of companies own practically everything. https://wikibuy.com/blog/11-companies-that-own-everything-904b28425120 (Also, last year Wonka was sold to Ferrero).
Thank you for providing those outliers as examples I can assure you that death squads are not used on the supply side of my business
You heard him say it, folks. Lubak thinks Kellogg’s, Mars, Mondelez, Hershey’s, General Mills, Nestlé, Unilever, ConAgra Foods, Smucker’s, Krispy Kreme, Dunkin’ Brands, Kraft Heinz, and Grupo Bimbo are "outliers". Link. Ain't he cute? Couldn't you just give him a sloppity slurpy splashy kiss on his baby-soft little forehead?
No I understand completely There is complete and transparent traceability on all the products we sell from source to shelf All factories we deal with are subject to intensely strict and rigorous social audits ensuring there is no slave labor or dangerous working conditions and that workers are paid fairly. You know who mandates these social audits that have gone incredibly far to help the rights of workers btw? "Big, evil" corporations And to top it off I travel the world on the regular and see every single aspect of my supply chain with my own eyes So don't you fucking lecture me on this Donny, you're way out of your element
Do you have any idea how many more companies than that have outlawed anything and everything palm oil related? Start comparing those numbers and then @ me Man, Wordforge's two shut ins lecturing me about the world has been quite an exhilarating ride, I have to say
WF has its own definition of "shut-in" that bears no resemblance to English as a First Language. Originated by @evenflow, IIRC, who thought a shut-in was anyone who couldn't drive a tractor and had never been to Oklahoma, otherwise known as the Center of the Universe...
I'd say it slightly differently: For them, ideology is reality. Reality is whatever ideology requires it to be. Reality is the interpretation, not the foundation. Any facts to the contrary are dismissed as racist, sexist, etc.
Now we puff out our chests to prove the blood on our hands is totally legitimate business based blood, and not the blood of exploited people. Much domineering. Such macho. Wow.
Is it funny that I can't see this thread in the main Red Room page, because I still have @Sokar on ignore?
This is meaningless drivel designed to distract from someone with real life experience telling you how things actually work This all comes back to my point that you completely lack an accurate grasp on what is happening in the world today Even when someone like me, who has no reason to lie to you given our history, lays it out for you, you willingly ignore it. You have zero desire to listen to or entertain opposing viewpoints Keep on truckin' bro
Sorry man, I was talking about in the real world. With real life decisions, and real people, working real jobs and spending real money. Not in the likeme fake world of the internet shut-in left-behinder currying for scraps of validation from anonymous online "friends".
I have zero desire to perpetuate a delusion. I believe that you are confident in your company. I do not share that confidence.
If I thought I had that superpower, I'd deny climate change away. Who but the most base psychopath would want that to be a thing if it weren't?
Says the toadie of the Rep Warriors. The aroma of their balls still wafts from your breath. Get a strong mint. And/or a tongue scraper.
