Another take on the timeless "Scotland the Brave" by folk singer John McDermott. One of the loveliest tunes to tickle my ears. He sings it a little differently than the straight version- I tried to attach the audio file but it wouldn't. Check it out on your favorite online music source.
Well it's Burns night tomorrow so I expect you all to go out and buy a haggis today in preparation for that.
When we were deployed to Iceland in January, the RAF boys at Kinloss loaded up two Nimrods with Scotch, kilts, haggis, and themselves, and flew on up to Keflavik, where we promptly chucked US Navy uniform regs out the window, donned the kilts as the lower half of our mess dress blue uniforms, and proceeded to get bloody pissed with the RAF guys for three straight days. The pattern went like this: Formal Dining in for Burn's Supper- Drinking mass quantities of scotch and reciting poetry. Next morning, sleeping in. That night- drinking mass quantities of scotch and beer Next morning, sleeping in. That afternoon- big ass BBQ, followed by pouring the RAF back into their planes and seeing them off to Scotland.
DISCLAIMER: No pipers or Icelandic wimmin were harmed during the three day drunken celebration of Burn's Supper.
