... that was travelling in front of me at 22 miles an hour... 'Sorry! I'm on 9 points!' (Note for non-Brits: a speeding offence nets you 3 points on your licence, 12 points and it's an automatic ban. )
Speaking of scrawling on white vans: A couple of months ago, we had some icy/sleety/snowy winter weather and all the news vehicles in the fleet were filthy from the road grime (every one of them is white, so it really shows when they're dirty). After none of the vehicles had been cleaned after a week or two, an edict was sent out that all photographer should get their news units washed ASAP. The order was complied with within a day or two--except for the live vans, which are assigned to a couple of non-photographer operators. On that Friday one of the reporters, who was sick of having to work out of such filthy vans (and getting his suits dirty from brushing against the doors and such), wrote "I wish my wife was this dirty!" in the grime on the back of one of the vans. They were all spotlessly clean by the next day.
That is funny because my sister once came out of the mall this past winter to find someone had written the same on the glass of the back hatch of her van. Of course being as quirky as she is she didn't bother washing her car because she thought it was funny.
