I figured I'd share with the writers on the board, more out of relief that I finished it than anything else. My new screenplay is done. I'd been working on it pretty much every day for three months, but took the bulk of the story from a play I wrote last year which didn't work. Now comes the process of getting notes, then re-writing with an eye toward selling it and/or getting representation out of it. The re-writing process will be brutal, but know that it'll be read by a couple of producers and lit managers I know is a good kick in the pants. It's my fourth finished screenplay, but the first that I really feel has something of myself in it. And the first that could be made cheaply, which is the key to selling as a first time screenwriter. So the sort of first draft is done. 114 pages of...something.
