One reason it seems to "happen all the time" is they watch the videos of the same incident 100 times, discuss it 100 times, etc. etc. so it seems like it happens al the time.

If a cop is wrong they are wrong - if they are right they are right, etc. I don't give a shit about whether the cop, suspect, witnesses, etc. are black/white/Asian/etc. But I also know the vast majority of cops aren't targeting minorities. BTW what about cops who are minorities? Black cops shoot black people and white people too - but you won't hear much about it. So the next time a black cop shoots a white man it just has to be because he's white - there can be no other reason - if he was black the cop would be more careful & respectful. Bottom line racist cops exist thus all cops are racist - except minority cops of course.

Any police force from Barney Fife to the NYPD is a function of training and leadership, in reverse order. If the brass: (A) are ineffective, (B) don't understand the difference between policing and the military, and/or (C) are more interested in garnering funding for new toys than actually leading, this will affect the personnel under their command.

As for training, find out what the requirements for admission and training (and, more importantly, follow-up training; a fat cop or a cop who hasn't been to the range since he was sworn in is not an efficient cop) are where you live. Every police force is different. Saying "all cops are bad" is a chickenshit copout.

Everyone knows only "all lawyers are bad" is accurate.

to be fair, the initial good-guy-with-a-gun doesn't get the bad-guy-with-a-gun every time either.
