So for Christmas, I got a 2018 Star Trek Ships of the Line calendar and an Eeyore toy for my desk at work. Also got a Staples gift card. Thanks for being born, JC.
Sister had to go out of town, her boyfriend's mom fell a few months ago. They went to down to check on her, and his Dad hasn't been doing well either. They also stopped at my mom's house. They're all down in Florida. So I'll know what I got when they get back. I bought them an Otterbox Cooler, a Sonos One, a marine Receiver and Kicker Marine Speakers. I was going to get myself a 75" Sony 900E.... but decided to wait until next year to get it.
I got some new guts for my Beretta 92. The "d" spring, skeletonized hammer, steel trigger, and that compensator, which has it's own recoil spring and rod. I got my mom some stoneware and my father got a leather jacket.
Santa apparently likes to taunt me and got the childrens a buggy for Xmas. DOWN WITH PERSONAL AUTOMOBILES!!!
Me, I get to sit back around a fire and enjoy some of that hipster, homespun, artisanal peach water with my family. (bottom shelf ) (Cheese and crackers is serious business.)
I got a a new rucksack to replace my worn-out rucksack. It's a hard-to-find camo pattern so I had to order it from Amazon at slightly more than Walmart sells it for....if they still carried it that is. And a Sammy Hagar hits compilation CD. It doesn't include "Three Lock Box" which I can't wrap my head around, but it's still a good compilation. And I got a WOODSTCK tie-dye t-shirt but I'm not a hippie so I'll only wear it around the house - hey, my wife meant well anyway! And I got some cologne and other smell good items and candy.
Got windshield wiper blades and the World of Warcraft cookbook, and an Amazon gift card, which will go to a new box of clarinet reeds.
My mom sent an Amazon gift card and my employer gave a $20 bakery gift card. Oh well. Better than nothing!
Got a couple casual button-downs, some jeans, a hoodie, a couple of golf gloves, a St. Louis Blues license plate frame for my ride, a Barnes & Noble gift card, a small toolbox w/ socket set, and a couple bottles of "The Botanist" gin (one will get exchanged for another brand that I have yet to try). Oh, and a Game of Thrones "That's what I do--I drink and I know Things" T-shirt! Plus some cash from my inlaws.
My room mate gave me some left-over food from his office Christmas party, and Woman-I'm-Dating gave me some vape liquid (took me to the store to pick it out too, which is good. When I buy it myself the guy behind the counter always says "are you sure you want that much nicotine?" three or four times, so if she tried buying it herself without me there she definitely would have gotten stuff that wasn't strong enough.) She said she's knitting me something too, but I haven't gotten it yet. I got my room mate nothing, and I made a chainmail purse for Woman-I'm-Dating, which she was very impressed with.
Anker Powercore Gearbox Racquet an other associated items Bunch of clothes Bunch of gift cards Trip to Disney in April Spoiled my kid too and justifiably so!
Home Depot gift cards all my favorite bath and body works stuff super soft NASA hoodie a fuzzy blanket paint, canvases, various painting supplies
Fire to replace my hand-me-down Kindle, plus SD cards archy and mehitabel compilation a copy of Codenames a couple of shirts
For Christmas Dinner, I was in charge of making the dinner rolls using the recipe of the recently deceased matriarch-in-law in a way that satisfied her brood. After the first two batches were close, the third batch was spot on. I'm pretty proud of myself.
One of my favourites. Get yourself a red grapefruit, stick a slice in your glass next time you have some. It really sets off the botanist. Thats how they serve it in one of Scotlands most exclusive hotels. In terms of gin i got a bottle of Eden Mill this year! Also got cash, a Big Moss indoor putting green for my garage and a good supply of golf balls and some tracksuit trousers, (sweat pants) for lounging about the house.
Meh. I'm the man that already had everything he wants. Last week, I upgraded to the iPhone 8 and Apple Watch 3 from the iPhone 6S and Apple Watch 1. Those were my main presents. But, under the tree I had two shirts and a 3" Zero Halliburton aluminum attache case. Mini-Elwood had a mountain of presents ranging from an age appropriate faux-shaving kit (featuring Lightning McQueen) to his paternal grandparents getting him a 60" Samsung 4K SmartTV (against Dad's better judgement. ) Meanwhile, the ladies in our lives got diamonds. Lots and lots of diamonds.
I got a 32" curved monitor a Lego Millennium Falcon (not the huge, $900 one, but hey... ) otherwise, orphan-mas with a bunch of friends at the bar... thus, a little bit drunk.
Movies- Wonder Woman. Spider-Man Homecoming. Lego Batman. Batman: Return Of The Caped Crusaders. Batman vs Two-Face. Book- Ecto-1, Ecto-1A, reboot Ecto-1 Hanes manual. (Really, it's the whole Ghostbusters technical manual. They loophole it that you can put all the gear in the car) Candy- Shitloads. Seriously, holy fuckballs.
A banner year, gave a lot (though not a record) and didn't get a single thing, although my 'secret santa' said it was in the mail.
I got a new iPad (bought myself, combo birthday/Christmas present) and one for Holly. Also got a case for the new iPad, a new Striiv pedometer to replace the one I accidentally ran thru the washing machine last year, and some clothes.
When I was six years old, I got a 13" black and white TV for my bedroom. Mini-Elwood is six, so he got a 60" Samsung 4K Smart TV for his bedroom. I want to laugh and make a scowling face, but in all honesty, adjusted for inflation, the two items probably cost about the same.
