He wasn't in the registered users group, which is where the editing signature rights are established. I can't figure out a way to find just users who are not in that group. Anybody else know how to do that?

I made his default profile the "Registered" group, and added him to the "Moderating" subgroup. That should do it. Almost everyone should be in the "Registered" group, and then just click the boxes to add them to subgroups. This way, they get all the standard permissions before the policy stacking starts.

If you need to search for a particular user group, just go to the Admin CP, and you can see the search user option on the right hand side. Just click "Advanced" and it will let you search by any modifier.

Yeah, but I was hoping to be able to turn up a list of people not in the registered group. Since he wasn't, perhaps some others aren't. It was easy to fix his problem because permissions analyzer explained why he didn't have sig editing permission. I was hoping to be able to fix any others proactively, but oh well.

Well, I showed you where to go: Go to the Admin CP, and on the right hand side is a quick user search. Click "Advanced," and you can select which group you want to search for. If you choose "Moderating" from the drop down menu, it should show all members listed as "Moderating." :)

I'm not communicating this well. I know how to do that, but was hoping for a null search feature, such as "not in moderators" or "not in registered," etc. I want to be able to do this in case there are two or three people not in registered users, who would then not have the correct set of parent rights. So in this circumstance, searching for all members of registered won't help me very much.

Maybe I will see whether it's possible to export the list, because then I could use Excell to determine whether anybody is missing. Will try that tomorrow perhaps, as there's no immediate rush.

You don't have to. I did that after I fixed shootER's account. It takes about 10 minutes, but you just go down the list, looking only for people in that primary group. There were 7 members who were listed as other than Registered, and they were under the "Regular Users" category. I switched them over to "Registered."
