Yeah, a bunch of people just started pouring character flaw potion on their cornflakes instead of milk, and now they're just bad.
It's "learn muh pronouns" or "dick chopping conspiracy." No other possibilities exist. -Some asstard with no grasp of reality.
Except you buy into the dick chopping conspiracy. That you dress it up in pretty thesaurus words doesn't make it less batshit.
I'll remember that next time one of the "think of the children!" trans threads get bumped, and you're all "they're doing it to toddlers!! ".
Oh, I'll still object to undermining parents and shoving gender politics at children. Doesn't obligate me to accept the motivations YOU attribute.
‘I’m afraid at times.’ Teachers speak out on how anti-2SLGBTQ+ protests have shaken their classrooms In his seven years teaching at a high school in North York, Kevin Doe has taken pride in making his classroom a sanctuary for students in ways they might not feel comfortable expressing elsewhere. He is open with his students about his experience as an openly gay educator through his work in the district’s Gay-Straight Alliance network. He offers the kind of representation he wished existed when he was in high school two decades earlier. Inclusive education practices by Doe and other Canadian educators have drawn criticism and harassment from anti-2SLGBTQ+ rights protests outside Toronto area high schools and across the country. Although these protests have been met with overwhelming numbers of counterprotesters, some educators say it has sparked fear and distress in their classrooms. According to multiple Toronto-area teachers, many students are upset by the recent protests, particularly as protesters have called into question their right to decide what — and when — they share personal information with their families. Although students are at the heart of this discussion, Doe says, their voices have so far been overshadowed by those of adults. Arthur Burrows, another North York high school teacher who identifies as queer, says the school they teach at has been targeted by protesters over the past year. “I’m worried and afraid at times,” they said in an interview with the Star. “This is something that has an impact on our whole community, but it is targeted specifically at trans folks and folks that do drag or anything connected to gender in that way.” Burrows said the consequences of any policies targeting the privacy and autonomy of students would have a particular toll for 2SLGBTQ+ students, who face higher rates of homelessness than their heterosexual and cisgender peers. Transgender and gender-nonconforming youth are five times also more likely to experience suicidal ideation and more than seven times as likely to attempt suicide, according to a 2022 report by the Canadian Medical Association Journal. Paolo De Buono, who is currently on leave from his position as an eighth-grade teacher at a Toronto-area school, says he’s seen the impact an inclusive classroom has had on all of his students’ ability to thrive and learn. In some cases, he says, he’s been the first person some of his students have felt comfortable coming out to. “I believe in parent rights, I do. Just, when I hear the term ‘parent rights’ in this discussion, it just seems to be about something else, about erasing us LGBTQ+ persons,” said De Buono. “The primary concern for a teacher is a student’s rights, and students have a right to learn in a safe environment and to learn about diversity — including their own.” In some cases, teachers expressed that they feel school boards should do more to show they stand in solidarity with 2SLGBTQ+ teachers and students. Dina Mayr resigned from her position at York Catholic School District after 23 years in the wake of the decision not to fly the Pride flag this June. She says her students felt targeted and rejected as a result of the district’s actions. The Toronto District School Board put out a statement in support of students and staff — something Doe hopes they continue to take meaningful action on through future policies and training. “My hope is that the TDSB will continue to uphold those values and be a vocal advocate and ally for those vulnerable students who should not have to defend themselves against hateful rhetoric — whether it’s ultra-conservative political ideology or adult protesters outside of a school,” he said. “It takes courage to stand up against bullies and we need to be having courageous conversations coupled with courageous acts of support.”
I'm having flashbacks to when Nova was Shepherd, and was all homophobic, but wouldn't even cop to being homophobic. The rabbit hole of perpetual denial kinda went this way. The variations are minor, and inconsequential.
I can post articles too, fuckhead. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.da...members-evidence-students-gender-surveys.html But we're totally not hiding things and undermining parents.
"Undermining parents" = "I really, really, really, think cis children can be hypnotized into transes".
It was like pulling teeth today to get more than a sentence out of my 18-year old tutorial students during a verbal interaction exercise. Changing their fucking gender would be the least of my concerns, even if I DID want to.
And here's a lovely one. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12479157/mom-trans-teen-sage-blair-sues-school.html Defend this. I fucking DARE you.
Oh, then there's nothing for you to cry about. If kids can't be converted, the "undermined parents" can die angry, cuz their kids are fine.
Those terms are not yours to set. You don't get to decide what information parents make have about their own children, and you sure as fuck don't get to decide how other peoples kids are raised. Not you, and not some arrogant activist teacher.
