    Watched this on Friday night.

I was expecting a mindless action movie in the vein of The Big Hit, or Exit Wounds.

Was pleasantly surprised! Decent action, pretty good story, and the ending was great.

If you like those crime stories they tell in cartoons like The Batman Adventures, you might like this one. The critics are trashing it and saying it's a below average movie. I think they just can't take Ben Affleck seriously. Even he does a pretty good job of acting in this one. And Alicia Keyes is HOOOOTTT!!!

Definitly give this one a watch, whether it's on a rental or theater. I can't really recommend you watch a movie in the theater that doesn't have massive special effects, so I'll just say this one is worth an afternoon or Tuesday night matinee - but worth watching all the same.

    Rating: 7.5/10 :techman:

Saw this Friday morning as a matinee. Kids were in school, wife was at work, whadyagonnado?

Agree with Scorp for the most part. Great popcorn flick with some funny moments and an explosive orgy of movie violence. I saw the plot twist waaaaaay before we got there but that's pretty standard with me- I've seen so many movies over the years that it's hard to miss the hint early on if you're looking for it.

I don't know why anyone would worry about Ben Affleck in this movie-

As a mindless action film, I give it an 8. As a general movie, about a 6.

I saw this last night and I agree with the consensus. I too saw the twist very early on.

But, the mindless orgy of violence at the climax was worth it. :techman:

I'm not too impressed with the loads of violence ala Tarintino, but Alicia's Smokin ass was worth it for me. It is in honor of this movie that my new avatar has been donned. It was between this one and the attachment.

I knopw the attachment is really hot, but it lost something in the resizing. :(

-By the powers of necromancy I breath fresh life into this thread.-

Just bought this on DVD. Clean and crisp flick with a good plot for a mindless actioner. Suprisingly well cast ensemble, with a few of the more douchebag actors not lasting too far into the movie. A lot of funny moments and great sequences of action especially the climactic battles taking place on seperate floors. The plot twist was easy to figure out early on with a keen ear, but still interesting despite not being mysterious.

The ending was well played and on the DVD there was an alternative ending that was not nearly as good and makes it very clear in its watching as to why it was cut. The outtakes real is funny, it illustrates some of the tention between the old school and new school actors- Liotta and Renyolds ragging on each other constantly. Liotta constantly messing Renyolds up and making off the cuff comments about him.

There are some "meet the factions" segments recorded for the special features, one on the Tremor brothers (my favorite group because of their wild violence) plays like an interview with them. The actors, in character talk about themselves and their job.

All in all the movie is well worth a rental and if you're inclined buying because it has those movie moments that make it worth watching again. The DVD presentation was good, and had a bit more to offer than your standard bonus features.

    Movie, Overall: 7/10
    DVD features: 6/10
    Conclusion: Definite rental.
