Now, while I used to be able to show hidden files, I don't seen to be able to do that in this new computer.

I wanna get into the "appdata" folder and stop Google from auto updating.
It doesn't need my browsing history.

There are a number of other programs that opperate out of this and another hidden folder.

    How do I Un-hide them?

Did you just upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7?

If so, first you have to open a folder, then you have to make sure you have the "File/Edit/View/Tools/Help" menus available.

Then you go to "Tools" and select "Folder Options".

Then you click the "View" tab on the box that pops up.

Look down the list of stuff and select the "Show hidden files, folders, and drives." button and click "Apply".

If they're hidden, you don't need them. The whole out of sight, out of mind thing. Just delete them.
