Doesn't fucking matter. This is a case of government overreach and shady deals by Harry Reid. Just as I guessed, it's the Feds imposing their will on people. Its a giant case of eminent domain and the Feds don't want to pony up the money for this man's cattle, so they use the tortoise as an excuse.

Only inasmuch as you still thought the Feds were pure as virginal angels after those things, too. But the religiously devoted are like that.

The "excuse" is that Bundy's a deadbeat who's been grazing his cattle on the Gubmint teat for decades. But you're okay with that kind of handout.

Did you read the article? The rancher paid his fees for years and built fences with his own money and now his cattle is being stolen and killed without compensation. It's not a handout by any means.

Gee, I wonder why? He's been in court and the reason he stopped paying fees is because the Feds are using the money to drive him out. If my landlord took me to court for "damages" I'd probably stop paying rent. I wouldn't be surprised if his lawyer advised him to stop paying until the matter is settled.
