Seriously, and I'll try to stay away from too much Blue Rom material - i do have a thread there for in depth discussion if you want - My major issue with transition is money. Most of the things involved in this can be quite expensive for a person with a poverty level income (when she has income at all). The only other important negative is the clash between my spouse's complete rejection of my identity and the reality that she is so mentally and emotionally dependent on me that it's very complex to just divorce and move on.

Those two factors providing context, I am amazingly wildly intensely overwhelmingly happy. Those who've never dealt with this may have no frame of reference to understand how it can be, but the contrast between my outlook on life five years ago and now is so vast the language doesn't have words to describe it.

It is depressing, at times, to have been out for 4 years now and not have made nearly as much physical progress as i'd have liked (I have some friends on facebook who went from coming out to post-op in a year and a half or so - it's all about the money) but at least i have hope and that's huge.
