    Europe will pursue their own path to their benefit and no one else's. If that aligns with the interests of the United States, that is incidental.

    Why? Beijing is much closer, and the loss of... what the heck is the Chinese politburo building called?... would be far more devastating to the CCP than the 3 Gorges Dam, unless it collapses on its own.

    I'm rather hoping that Europe (and the UK) make neutrality clear from the outset, and act as mediators rather than involved parties, not because China are anywhere near being blameless but because support for the US would embolden steps towards a hot exchange between nuclear powers and legitimise (again....) US military adventuring as being part of an international coalition.

    Plus we aren't the US's bitches.
