These are good questions, but I think it's already far too late for the Left to take racism seriously. They fucked up big by waging a phony, decades-long war on racism long before there was any real threat. Do you know what the average American learned from those years? 1. The Implicit Double-Standard: Not all whites are racists, but all racists are whites. It isn't racist if Muslims murder droves of whites, Mexicans join their local la Raza chapters, or blacks make fortunes singing about niggers, bitches and crackers. All racists are whites. 2. Law of Diminishing Marginal Utility: If we deem one man a racist, we all assume he's a seriously bad dude. If we deem 1 in 100 Americans racist, we have trouble processing a figure this large. After all, there are at least 1 in 100 sociopaths as well, so we must be prepared to live among and work with these people but maintain healthy boundaries. If we deem half of America racist, then racism becomes utterly fucking meaningless to everyone. The accusation eventually loses it's marginal value. 3. Everyone is Racist: The average American learned that every man and woman living is racist to a degree. If you give your grandmother a mug that says "#1 Grandmother," does that mean that you want to kill every other grandmother on the planet? No! It just means you're proud of your grandmother. Pride of one's heritage and culture is natural, healthy and morally upright. In fact, we encourage other races to celebrate this, but we suppress ours. Whites have developed a guilt-complex for simply being themselves, but in reality they're the first and only race to unanimously encourage the cultivation of diversity, tolerance and multi-faith nations.
The left never talks about Robert Byrd or Woodrow Wilson or Al Gore Sr. or many other racist democrats.
I think he's dead. But my point is, why try to beat Obama and Clinton over the head with a guy who decided that his racist past was wrong? Isn't that a good, Christian, redemptive story?
How about.......statistically most police go their entire careers without firing their service weapon. So yeah call the police, because you're statistically more likely to get one of those police officers than the ones you describe.
Nonetheless, he was elected U.S. Senator. I didn't realize your argument was intended for gullible Christians, perhaps you'd concede that it's not unreasonable to propose a unwritten policy of black-balling ex-Klan members from the Democratic party?
It worked out pretty well for George Zimmerman. I don't think your hypothetical would play out the way you think it would. Just look at the stark contrasts in police response with BLM and Standing Rock vs. Charlottesville.
Your insinuations notwithstanding, I think that was exactly the opposite case. I think if Nazis roll into a black neighborhood, the black folks won't be calling the police for assistance.
I'm not denying that. But if a white person gets harmed in a minority neighborhood, the fucking tanks will roll out.
I don't think you'll hear many cries of outrage over Nazis getting their asses kicked while stirring up trouble in a minority neighborhood.
Around here? Once they're too big to ignore, you'll find the usual suspects will claim to have supported the Nazis all along. Look how many people suddenly admitted to actively supporting Trump (as opposed to just hating Hillary) once he won.
Moment they step over the line into physically violent behaviour or acts of intimidation. Now the latter is a bit awkward as it's a bit "eye of the beholder", but this is why we have rules and laws. Personally, if they want to go march through a minority neighbourhood, it should be done in utter silence by themselves. A single fucking murmur, let alone chant, and those involved who do open their cockholes get yanked out and get to sit out the rest of the protest awaiting processing for intimidating behaviour. And when I say silence, I mean by the protesters. Let the local community mock away. No violence, no threats though. Chant away "bunch o' fucking losers" or something by all means. Problem with equality and free speech is that we all hit a point where we feel one group really shouldn't have it, and we feel quite cosily justified in that belief. And, as individuals, that's fine. The state shouldn't be picky though. Nazis are people too. Not very nice people, and yes, the world would be a shiner place if some passing aliens teleported them all into the heart of the sun. And we don't ignore them. We mock them. We belittle them. We reduce them. Anything else just feeds into their sense of persecution, and makes them tighter. I've seen both in my locale. Couple of decades back we had a rich seam of National Front, C18 and BNP types, corralled by a particularly unpleasant specimen. When they weren't being ignored, they grew in numbers - "see", said the scumbag, "we're all white, and they're trying to get us!" And in a town of racial tension, he was like a little pied piper, where all the lost white kids flocked too, he made sense to those who'd never ventured far beyond its borders. Used to see them in the pubs. Piggy eyed skinheads. And their numbers grew and grew and they were "oppressed." One of the reasons I turned my back on the town, really. There were problems with the Asian communities, but hate was never going to solve those. After the riots and court cases, things blew over, and they found themselves ignored. And their power went. The existing members drifted away, and new members were few and far between. Their favourite haunt was eventually turned into an indie music joint, filled with the more open minded people they hated. It was the last really big piss on their bag of chips, that. Saw the ringleader a few years back. On his own. A sad, lonely figure, who we laughed about. Power requires a well lit platform. Don't give them one. Let them scrabble about in the dark of the irrelevance. It also requires being taken seriously. Take that from them too.
