Correction: if the plant was actually state-of-the-art, they would have figured out how to collect solar energy without creating an unlimited supply of KFC chicken popcorn.
How the fuck did this EVER get a pass in California, where every the death of any endangered bird, bear and ant is met with steep fees? I can't believe no one knew about this before building and most environment conscious people are more careful.
Isn't it the Obama Admin. that has given waivers to a bunch of wind turbines allowing them to kill as many Bald Eagles as they need to?
Uh... He's not wrong. I didn't paste the whole thing so feel free to dig into it and find the details.
Sixty-seven golden and bald eagles over the course of five years. Anyone keep track of how many died of non-windfarm-related deaths in that amount of time? I know people who won't eat bison because they still think they're "going extinct."
Yeah, there are trade-offs. But my recollection from the last time we had this debate was that the bald eagle deaths were rare (compared to some birds) and that the rule change was mostly to protect against liability for an occasional accident. Also, people might have an emotional attachment, but Bald Eagles are no longer endangered, and probably don't need as much protection as they get. [edit] I checked, and actually the official status is "least concern" which means that there is a sizable and sustaining population. There is no reason to grant protected status. So yeah, Dayton's not wrong about an irrelevant fact.
Nope, that one's a gimme under the Stopped Clock rule. He's got too many wrong answers to make up for.
Must be in the Super Secret Admin Forum, 'cause I'm not seeing it. As a hypothetical I'd say your basis for comparison is flawed. However, it's not something I can relate to from personal experience. Exactly. The part about it blinding pilots is a bit as well.
