I've asked Nick to look into board measures and I'm waiting on some confirmation regarding our legal obligations. So, to answer your question, it's TBD.

Is it really needed? I think it should go on hiatus until they're forced to beg for it.

I like the idea of invitation only, myself. Then we'd really have an eliteforge, and it wouldn't be restricted to mods and admins.

It is the best draw on the internet, everybody knows sex sells. Yet Wordforge without the White Room wouldn't bother me much either. Most everybody knows how to find porn online and I'd imagine the number of active members attracted solely by a hidden forum is quite low.


The real concern is underage participants.

WF started without the White Room and we did fine without it at the beginning.

I guess there are issues with the underage members having access to it and other various anti-porn laws out there. Personally, I don't think we need it, and that's not the preacher in me saying that. There is so much porn out there, do we really need to have it at WF too?

I see WF as more of a discussion forum, not a place to post dirty pictures. That's just my two cents and I know I'm in a VERY small minority here. But I don't think that keeping the White Room offline is going to hurt us.

I don't care either way, there's always PMs if people really want to share stuff...

FWIW, at least one service we provided with the White Room was a store of virus- and spyware-free porn, something that's significantly harder to find online.

I never saw the White Room as a need. In fact, I rarely visit it and mostly if duty dictates it.

What it is, is another service we provide the interested. It also give us a place to point to when inappropriate content is used in avatars.

I have no problem with limiting access to the adults, but I see no reason to be rid of it entirely. There was no trouble with the room and it had a decent amount of use. Tossing it out because Troll Kingdom wants to control us and circlejerk over the shitstorms they cause is bullshit.

DarthSikle started making noises about reporting us for letting minors in the White Room and saying WF was full of pedophiles when his ban was not reversed.

Now, he could be blowing smoke...but he and more importantly others there are more than willing to do such things to cause trouble for a board. And with Elwood being in law enforcement and at a new job to boot, it really isn't a risk worth ignoring considering the potential real life repercussions for Elwood.
