This is unexpected if accurate, everyone was treating it as a given that they were going to announce Starcraft 2.

    On-line games suck.

I, too, was hoping for Starcraft 2.

    :(

I think this rumor started about 5 minutes after WoW was released, I'll believe it when I see a Blizzard press release.

I'll spend hundred of dollars upgrading my desktop computer just in order to play Starcraft 2.

    This, not so much.

    Eh.

I doubt it, since WoW still has years on it's lifespan. Besides, given how they dropped the ball, I can't ever see myself listening to "SPAWN MORE OVERLORDS" and pumping up on stimpacks anytime soon.

But then again, I hate Blizzard. You spend forever trying to create your unique and interesting character, only to have the game break you down to the same rock, paper, scissors element. Sometimes it's just rock, rock, rock... :marathon:

Their MMO marketshare isn't anywhere near as big in SK as it is in the rest of the world, it's quite possible they intend to try and grab more share there using the Starcraft name.

Also, I would disagree that it is too early for them to be seriously thinking about what is going to come after WoW. The MMO market is full of games that were expected to be successes and ended up not reaching expectations because they had grown stale in the eyes of users. Look at Everquest as a prime example.

If they were to ever make Starcraft II, I'd like to see more unique races included in addition to the first three.

You know we are talking about Blizzard here right guys? If they announce this game today, there's little chance we will actually see a release date before...I dunno, 2011?
That would be cool. Do you have any ideas in your mind?

I think the expectations of Starcraft are just so high, they would never be able to match the first one. They probably shouldn't even try, as there would be so many people who bitch and whine about it, regardless of how the game stands on it's own.

Wow, I don't think I have been less interested in a new game since I heard the rumor that KOTOR3 was going to be basically "World of KOTOR". :(

I'd switch from WoW to Starcraft... I hope this turns out to be true. :D

Though, if they released a new Starcraft RTS, I'd be pretty excited too!

World of KotOR sounds fantastic as well. ;)

    I hate MMO's. I'd much rather just have a regular old KOTOR3.
