Does this stuff ever actually work? I only ask because there are so many youtube videos posted where people are trying to pull this, and the vast majority seem so self assured...almost nonchalant. Like they know they'll win in any court case and get the "lean on your bond", whatever that means. I figure if it never worked, people wouldn't do it.

That's what I mean. She's so confident that all the cop has to do is call his "superior" to be told that the laws don't apply to her.

Cop, finally drawn into arguing the delusion of that lady free inhabitant,, decides to discuss it on the merits:
"Well, that would just be pure anarchy if that was the case."

Cameras are a wonderful thing. In the old days they probably would've just 'tazed' the fruitcake rather than risk an incident.

Lord, that takes me back. I used to know some people who believed in the whole NESARA thing, and a lot of them were "sovereign citizen" types. There was also something about the gold fringe on flags in courtrooms that I never quite got.

New one to me, looks like selective libertarianism.....

On a more serious note I have long pondered the idea of people who simply "opt out" of society. Some of the Channel Islands here have people who to various extents simply do not recognise themselves as being citizens of anywhere (although legally, of course, they are) and live as close to off grid as is feasible. Local authorities do in fact make some provision for subsidising alternative fuel sources for them which to me seems to be missing the point.

Likewise some of the traveller groups do not recognise the authority of external law enforcement, convening their own courts and councils, but again this has no real standing and they are indeed subject to the law even if they are stubbornly resistant to engagement with it.

Spot, the UK equivalent to the Sovereign Citizens are the so-called "Freemen on the Land". They don't get any more leeway from the courts here either.

    *wiki’s NESARA*

Some NESARA supporters also make the claim that otherworldly beings are working to get NESARA announced. These include a "channeled" cosmic being called "Hatonn"[25] (an androidPleiadean), and another named Sananda. According to some Ascended Master Teaching proponents such as Joshua David Stone, Sheldan Nidle, and Luis Prada, Sananda is the "galactic name" of Ascended Master Jesus, which he uses in his role as Commander-in-Chief of the Ashtar Command flying saucer fleet. Pallas Athena is regarded as being the Vice-Commander of the saucer fleet. Ashtar (Ashtar Sheran) is regarded in these teachings as being third-in-command.[26]Saint Germain, an Ascended Master borrowed from the I AM Movement and the Church Universal and Triumphant, along with benevolent aliens from the Galactic Federation, are also frequently mentioned (most prominently by Nidle) as working towards the NESARA announcement. The designation of George W. Bush as a disguised reptilian often co-occurs with this claim.[27] Goodwin has claimed that Ascended Master Saint Germain has come down from the etheric plane to physically meet with heads of banks and world leaders regarding the NESARA announcement.[28][29]

It's like pyramid schemes, a few people at the top make money peddling this nonsense, selling books and seminars to the gullible. And of course there are the deluded narcissists that never expect the rules to apply to them in the first place.

Reminds me of a "King of the Hill" episode where Hank and his buddies got busted for using pot as fish bait. When they were hauled into court Hank's sovereign citizen buddy started going off on a rant about the flag having a gold fringe which made it an "admirality" (sic) court and how he did not recognize the authority of admirality court. He damn near turned a slap on the wrist ticket into a prison sentence for contempt before cooler heads prevailed. I never could figure out how it mattered whether you recognized someone's authority or not if they can put your ass in jail.

At the time that I was hearing it, it was the early '00s and I lived in a town with a lot of Transcendental Meditation people who loved Dennis Kucinich and thought Bush was the devil. Since they already bought into the idea that enough people meditating in unison could generate waves of peace and also thought they could fly (seriously, google "yogic flying" and the "Maharishi Effect"), they were pretty susceptible to wacky things. Their favorite part, and therefore the part I saw quoted the most, was the idea that NESARA, which had been secretly signed into law in 2000, included a clause mandating Bush and Cheney's immediate resignations.

How NESARA supposedly required Bush and Cheney to resign when it was passed before they were elected is something that was never entirely clear to me.

I don't know about the sovereign citizen stuff, but I do know that during a traffic stop, if one slaps the cop on the arm and says "Tag, you're it! No tag backs," the cop is bound by the constitution to abide by the "no tag backs" order and they have to let you go.

Don’t be so simplistic. The cop can just tag his partner who can tag you. And you’re done for.

No, because the cops are on the same team. That would only work if "every man for himself" is declared, which can only be done if you're not it, and no one on your team is it.

Although, if the cop has his fingers crossed when you tag him, it doesn't count so make sure you can see his hands and that his fingers aren't crossed.
