That's according to the Political Compass, which hasn't recalibrated. Paladin went from +2.something to -1.57 on the authoritarian-libertarian axis over the years. That is consistent with actually becoming "more libertarian over the years"

On Frank Zappa’s “Mothers of Prevention” album, he has a clip from when he testified before the committee. Al Gore gushes over how big a fan of Zappa he is and how honored he is to meet him. Not on the album is Gore saying the exact same thing to John Denver. (The album consists of tracks of Senators reading the lyrics that they claimed were obscene.)

Do you have the link? I usually come in just further left than Ghandi, but right of the Dalai Lama.

I keep telling you people that I'm a moderate centrist with libertarian leanings, but some of you like to pretend I'm some kind of far-right Republican shill. :bailey:

To which a conservative would say "who decides how much is basic?".

To which I would answer "your guys already decide what's basic in favor of cruelty".

They have this illusion they can't fucking let go of that the game isn't already rigged by them, and that pure holy math is in charge.
That if math decides the Earth turns into a flaming ball of shit, then by God, it must, because the math.
And that's the fake "deep secret" they get so smug about.

No, muthafuckas, it's not the math, it's people.
Cruel shitty people that want more than they deserve.

    "Well who decides.."
Your guys already decided, and what made them special?
    Certainly not swinging a hammer.
And if they're transcendent geniuses, why are they scared shitless of poor kids getting a good education?

It's a con from the get.
    CON-servatism.

I mean, centrists don't typically pray for the annihilation of the planet, and then turn around and tell anyone to the left of Mussolini that they have "reality impairment".

I've moved a little towards the center on the "Social Libertarian / Authoritarian" Axis, and I've moved significantly to the Left from where I once was on the "Economic Left / Right"

Yea, if I took it again right now, I'd probably be a couple points different one way or the other. Whether I "strongly agree" vs "agree" and "strongly disagree" and "disagree" depends largely on who/what is aggravating me at the time I'm looking at the question.

Of course, there are those here who would hold that questions like "schools shouldn't be teaching our kids religion" are the wrong way round when answering "Yes" means you are Libertarian. "Who are you to say we can't teach religion!!!" Graaarrrr!! You authoritarian pricks!!"
