Containing the favorite episodes of each actor who played one of the captains.

Plus, fan favorites of each captain to fill out the rest.

So, what episodes do you think will be on it?

    Discuss.

City on the Edge of Forever and In the Pale Moonlight should be givens, IMHO, probably for actor's favorites as well as fan favorites.

    Ugh.
Just another way for Paramount to squeeze some more sheckels from the fans.

One more step towards the marketing of a hardened pile of poop with a com badge embedded in it.:bash:

City on the Edge of Forever, The Enemy Within
Tapestry, Chain of Command or Family
Rapture or Beyond the Farthest Star and In the Pale Moonlight
    No idea for Voyager
In a Mirror, Darkly and hopefully something else from the 4th season other than Storm Front or These are the Voyages...

You can't honestly tell me the Shat still remembers any of them?

He'll either pick Devil in the Dark or Spock's Brain. Inner Light is a given for PA, Far Beyond the Stars for AB. Not sure about the others.

why buy the fan collective when you can just buy the entire series, copy the ones you like and then either throw the originals into storage or sell them on ebay...

Cuz if I could afford that hardware setup, there's a lot more I could do besides pirating freakin' Star trek.

Can't say I really care which episodes each actor favors. I mean is Shades of Gray gonna be included because Patrick Stewart loved the episode?

The Captain's Log should include each captains best episodes not what episodes each actor playing a captain likes best.

DVD writers are pretty cheap - probably a lot cheaper than getting arseraped by paramount whenever they fling out 'fan collective' crap

exec 1: well, we've sold loads of the boxsets, but theres still people who couldn't afford the box sets but we still want money from

    exec 2: hmmmm.... fan collectives!

    exec 1: whats that?

exec 2: we package up some eps with a theme every 6 months, and those without enough money to buy the boxsets will buy the collectives!

exec 1: heh, and we'll be able to charge them many times over for buying the same freaking episodes - genius exec #1!

Eh, I'll wait n' see if the episode selection fills out the last of the ones I want.

If not, I'll get the bootleg boxsets of the whole serieses.

Presuming the Shat doesn't just pick the ones with the hawt babes: CotEoF and Enemy Within
Stewart: Inner Light, and anything with a Shakespeare play making an appearance.
Brooks: Far Beyond the Stars, In the Pale Moonlight

Fuck DVD writers. You can buy each season of TNG for £16 each at the moment and DS9 will be the same shortly. It's not going to break the bank on a gradual acquisition curve.

Never underestimate Paramount's ability to find new ways to package old product.

Pretty soon they'll release the Special Edition TOS in high-def. In fact, they'll likely release all the series in high-def. The high-def movies are already in the pipeline.

    Long Live Star Trek! :tos:

^ Yea, well, it's not like every studio will do that with every single movie ;)

Anyway, another useless box set. WTF wouls somebody buy like 8 episodes of a series? How often can you watch the same episodes over and over again? 'course it doesn't hurt anybody either so...

Yet another useless boxset aimed at morons who know shit all about Trek. Not only is is useless but also misleading about what it contains.

Yup, the type that would if a boxset were released with a dozen or so different covers would buy all twelve.

The only DVD sets of ST that I've bought are TAS. Got it for the kids for Christmas. :xmas:

At least, that's what I told my wife. :calli:

As for the rest, I'd rather not get fleeced by Paramount by paying premium prices for TV shows that were paid for by commercial ads years ago.
