nope, Space Appa and at least one other X-wing survived.

His plot armour is made out of the remains of Cara Dune, so I think he's pretty safe.

I'm not sure George Lucas knows.

    1. All the "new" force powers you see in the new movies and shows actually come from the books/comics.
    2. All the powers from the books/comics had to be approved by George Lucas with a questionnaire (I remember this detail from reading every SF magazine I could lay my hands on in the 90's, and one of the SW authors revealing this).
    3. So, Lucas technically vicariously approves of how the force is used now, even though he doesn't personally oversee things anymore.

Now!! Given all that! Here's what the books have to say about the force and droids.

As you would expect, droids don't have the force, and don't give off an automatic ping in the force like a lifeform would.
BUT, if a Jedi is actively scanning, like Anakin watching over sleeping Amidala, he'll see a droid, like he'd see a table or chair.
But active scanning takes conscious effort.
Like Jimmy Stewart in "Rear Window" has to happen to have his binoculars on to catch the killer.

Now here's where the lines blur.

The Star Wars galaxy does actually have the tech to scan a human brain into a droid.
But, they lose their force, and they go weird, like Corby in Trek.
BUT! Luke entered the mind of the Jedi who had this procedure.
He didn't like it, to put it mildly.
But the fact that he could says something.

In the comics, in the time between Hope and Empire, Darth Vader could reach out through the probe droids with a sort of Cerebro chair.
He picked up Luke one time, and sent force lightning through the droid.
And if that sounds wacky, remember, he could force choke through a TV screen.
Is it really so radically different?

Same book as the android-Jedi, the force ghost of a female Jedi, Calista, impressed herself onto a computer, and kept her force.
A possession is different than a scan/downloaded somehow.
Scientists and Jedi alike don't know why.

So, I'm thinking if a droid had a force ghost, or a Jedi/Sith was Cerebro-chairing through the droid, then yes, they would force-ping.
But those are specific special circumstances.

Anyway! All of that to say, even Lucas's thinking on this was a bit muddled and fuzzy.
Dave Filoni was merely his protégé.
Give him a little breathing room.
You're expecting more perfection from him than the creator.

Yea, I’m not reading all that. I just assumed Ahsoka was so intellectually/emotionally caught up in her issues with Sabine, she wasn’t paying attention to her spidey senses tingling.

How the Force works is inconsistently. There are ample examples of Jedi and Sith not sensing danger in live-action Star Wars media, of the Force allowing a Jedi or Sith to foresee things that are to happen while not allowing others access to that same vision.

The entirety of the Jedi wasn't able to figure out that Palpatine was a Sith lord until he was ready to give up any pretense of being a non-fascist.

Feloni directly worked with Lucas on Clone Wars, Asoka is his child, he should have this figured out by now, yet somehow the whole thing falls flat and I want this show to succeed.

I'm not sure what that has to do with anything I've said. The Force doesn't have a consistent set of rules of when it warns people of danger. Unlike, say, Spider-Man's Spider-Sense, which pretty much works unless something actively suppresses it, sometimes the force-user gets triggered, sometimes they don't basically for the sake of plot.

nothing to do with Ahsoka, and everything to do with "the Force resides in all living things".

    Droids ain't living things.

Given all the predictions and the like, could be the SW universe is entirely deterministic, and the midichlorians are mini-Manhattans.

The Sith and the Jedi are just blissfully unaware, not only only of the strings, but that their entire abilities are down to glorified bacteria that are aware of them.

    I don’t think you do.

I think you want the show to be what you want it to be.

I don’t hear you complain because Monica, Chandler, Ross, Phoebe, Joey, nor Rachel have a space ship. None of them use the force. They don’t sense any danger.

You’re complaining because a movie that came out 40 years ago has a spinoff that isn’t what you like.

Who are Monica, Chandler, Ross, Phoebe, Joey, and Rachel? I've seen Clone Wars and Rebels and I don't remember any of these characters. I'm complaining because the show is boring and slow and doesn't live up to it's predecessors.

And it never occurred to you that it could be successful regardless of whether or not it bores you?

Hell, I fell asleep every fucking time the ex husband put in Lord of the Rings. THAT fucker was boring! But, by most other accounts, it was successful.

That was pretty incredible. Kinda wish I had seen it on the big screen.

The superimposing of Hayden Christensen and CGI Anakin was well done. And well past time. Christensen deserved … better lines in the prequels but also better treatment from fans. Ashley Eckstein’s voice superimposed over Ariana Greenblatt was done nicely as well.

As for the story itself … What was Anakin’s point? I do think it was post ROTJ Anakin meeting Ahsoka. Anakin wasn’t trying to pretend he didn’t turn evil. But was showing Ahsoka that even in peacetime Jedi still must fight. And that she is doing Sabine and even Grogu and Jaden a disservice by not teaching them to fight.

The scene kinda reminded me of Kanan’s fight with the Grand Inquisitor Ghost in the Jedi temple on Lothol. Kanan was afraid to teach and had to be reminded of his own training. Prior to that, Kanan didn’t even want to be part of the rebellion. He was only there because he was with Hera. After that, Kanan accepted that he needed to teach Ezra not to be a pacifist Jedi. And now that is Ahsoka’s lesson.

It kinda seems like Filoni is trying to bring the idea of Jedi back to it’s original intent in Star Wars. They’re supposed to be like … the Shinobi or … whatever secret Japanese warrior tribe that were supposed to keep the people safe. It was more of a calling and responsibility rather than just … people who were born lucky enough to have a natural talent for using the force.

Now that is what I was looking for, well done. That was was amazing work all around and it was nice to see Anakin's final lesson. This was Clone Wars Anakin. We even got a little bit Rex too, fantastic. I was not expecting to see the Clone Wars again. I wasn't expecting any of this. I really like seeing the live action Ghost. This is the what Star Wars is all about at it's core and I love it. There was even a hint of Empire Strikes Back in there. Again, good fucking job!

    ETA:
I also want to add that I'm glad they fixed Anakin's lightsaber color to match ANH.

What? Haven’t seen the clone wars

Despite not being in the loop on a lot of the backstory here have to say I’m really enjoying this so far. Definitely has that good Star Wars vibe and feel. I like how Andor explored the reality of life in the Star Wars universe and then we get this that explores the mythology of the Star Wars universe

I did feel that Thrawn would be a bit more badass given the reputation i’ve heard about but maybe that moment will come in the next couple of episodes

Thrawn's more like a James Bond villain than a typical SW villain.
More of a mastermind than a fighter.

There aren't enough episodes left to tie up all these threads.
I have a hunch that Ahsoka and Mando season 3 are going to cliffhang into Filoni's Mando-verse Infinity War movie with Thrawn as their Thanos.

Is it just me or has Star Wars gone stealth furry at this point? It seems like the space alien thing is just a flimsy excuse to have anthro people in live action. I am not sure when I watch the trailers for star wars shows if it is star wars or just a second life fan video?

I am not really complaining as much as I find it interesting how bud light swilling star wars fans who call furries furfags are also the same ones thinking how the mandalorian and ashoka are cool despite them clearly being furry oriented. It is ok to like all the fursuit people running about as long as they have lightsabers and laserblasters.

I just wish people didn't need the proper branding excuse to let their furflags wave proudly in a bobafet utilikilt.

Wookies are the crossover drug to yiff. It is not litterboxes in bathrooms that indoctrinate kids into being gay furries, it was the idea of what han and chewbacca did while stuck in the falcon for long times alone while waiting for the garbage to be let out on the star destroyer. That plastic light saber works a lot like a dildo. Kylo had the 4 seater.

@Ten Lubak I know you and I don’t see eye to eye politically, but if you really want to get into the lore of Star Wars, at least what’s considered canon, then I highly recommend Clone Wars and Rebels. Both of them cover a little bit of everything Star Wars.

There is actual lore to star wars aside from I made this shit fucking up right on the spot? Really?

Whenever star wars tries to do that you get something like the christmas special. Canon is the enemy of pull it out of your ass storytelling.
