So, who do you think will lead the Mandalorians? Will Din Djarin keep the darksaber and lead - all Mandalorians? Will he be able to unite the fractured sects - Bo Katan and crew and The Armorer's tribe and, if rumors are to be believed, Fenn Rau, as well as Sabine Wren and any of her family that escaped the Night of 1000 tears.
I'm not sure Sabine would take it. She didn't want it to start with and, knowing what happened with the purge and the legend surrounding that, she wouldn't just take it as a gift from Djarin, nor would she fight him for it as she doesn't want it. If Mando dies and no one wins it from him in a fight, she might take it. I mean, it would be nice, but it would have to be forced on her and someone will have to win it from Djarin or he dies without losing it.
problem is that she only found it, so her claim is as questionable as was Bo Katan's. DD at least won it in combat despite there inevitably being a technicality to claim about not taking it from a pretender to the throne or what have you-at least for the sake of drama. I'm betting on a civil war/battle royale tournament, depending on how soon they establish Sabine as yet another contender. SO far we've got her, Paz Vizla, Mando, Starbuck, and even Boba may have a claim to challenge based on his lineage to Jaster Mereel...
Sabine's mother gave the darksaber to Gar Saxon and she fought him and won it. Then she gave it to Bo Katan.
I’m thinking he’d make a great Fenn Rau. Can you imagine him being a cranky old mandolarian throwing shade at Mando about how a 16 year old girl nearly defeated a Jedi with the dark saber and she hadn’t been trained yet either.
Rebels S3 is 2-3 years BBY, so she's 19 at that point as the series progressed from 4-5BBY through to 0-1 BBY. Lloyd would be old enough to play the aforementioned Jaster...
with no jedi to teach him, it may as well be a chainsaw. Not so canon, but reasonable that actual training would include some force sensitivity, like that monk in Rogue One. Basically he forgot to say "I am one with the Force and the Force is with me" three times while clicking his heels. we can figure him and Boba to both be born around 30-33 BBY based on Boba being the alpha clone and Din being about 9 in a scene with B2 battle droids which first appear in 21 BBY. (per wookiepedia)
I’m not saying Fenn Rau would be correct in the shade he was throwing. I’m just saying, I could hear him saying it. And, it would be totally cool if pulled off by Christopher Lloyd.
Rewatching the series as I clean this morning (or rather, background noise while I clean) and now I’m on Season 1 Episode 3. And am reminded of the question I had at the time, but let it go as I continued to watch the story. But, if it’s so easy for Mando to break into The Client’s stronghold and steel (steal?) back the child, why isn’t more crime happening and how does anyone feel safe?
S1:E8. Worth noting here that the character of Moff Gideon is exhibiting knowledge of which he could not possibly know. I get that he’d be able to figure out who is “The Mandalorian” hold up with Kreef Karga, but there’s no reason, no way he would know Cara Dune was also there. And yet, I do not hear any bitching about this character being in possession of such skills without any backstory suggesting he should have that knowledge. Just an observation.
