Stargate SG-1 "easter egg"

Googled for it and didn't see it anywhere else online, so I figured I'd post it here.

In the Stargate SG-1 Season 4 Disc 1 Featurette "Visual effects", I noticed that the keyboard that Teryl Rothery (Dr. Fraiser) types on briefly didn't seem quite right. I figured that maybe the SGC was using Dvorak instead of QWERTY.

Well, I was right they weren't using QWERTY, but it's not Dvorak. No, it's a new keyboard layout altogether. I don't think it has a name, and is notable for repeated letters on the top row. The following has not been Photoshopped in any way except to convert from the PDF screen grab to JPEG:

On the topic of SG-1, Best Buy has all seasons of it for $25 apiece.

What's the logic behind that kind of keyboard?
