From my post over at Starscape BBS: I have a flair for the dramatic, so I decided to call them the "Council of Administrators" (or, "the Administrative Council", alternately). It's more of a Supreme Court setup, but they can also warn in any forum and have the power to enforce the board rules. I didn't want to keep using the TBBS model of Administration, because our board is much smaller and not half as complex. I'm hoping this will enable us to run a tighter, well oiled system that is more even handed than a Moderator hierarchy system. Check it out sometime. www.starscapebbs.com -J.
Nope. The decision took several months for me to make, and I already had the people in mind. I understand that a lot of people feel that trolling is hard to define because by it's very nature it's supposed to be sneaky, but I stand on the basis that I don't like trolling. -J.
Well, we've banned a grand total of two (count 'em two) posters and they both had to work very hard to do that. It's not like we're against heated discussion, we're just against assholes coming in trying to piss everybody off. There's plenty of places where people can do that, but we're just trying to be a little more idealistic with the idea that people can argue strenuously and heatedly (we don't ban flaming) and remain, if not friends, respectful to each other.
Or if not that, then they should at least have the balls to speak out in the open and not hiding behind words. -J.
Sorry having nightmare's because you saw someone's cock might be grounds for banning that person from TNZ, but in Forbidden Planet it's enter at your own risk. And for those of you who miss that "special room" here, we might have something for you over there.
Something we have done to do a little market survey is open a "guest only" forum at Starscape. If you have visited, but haven't enrolled we'd like to hear your thoughts and comments about our board. The same goes for you folks who are considering checking us out. If you do come over please feel free to leave comments in the guest forum thread for that purpose. Starscape is designed to be friendly and fun, with the occasional serious discussion thrown in for adults to chew over, or even flame each other over, while still remaining what we hope is the friendliest corner of the Internet. Please feel free to stop by www.starscapebbs.com
^ Exactly. We want unregistered guests to feel welcome, too. The guest forum is our way of letting everyone participate without having to go through registration to do it. -J.
