It's well and truly dead. https://www.cnbc.com/2019/01/18/mic...-mobile-says-switch-to-iphone-or-android.html
I miss mine... Maybe I'll power it up just to look at teh groovy tiles. It really was a better interface than Android.
Wife got a new apple11. I may have to bludgeon her. In a fit of spite I bought a Motorola G7 for $177 (roughly a tenth of what she spent). I bought it from a 3rd party on Amazon. The international G7-power (64GB, 5,000 mAH battery). This is $50 less than the G5 I got 2 years ago and it's a faster phone with a bigger, brighter display. I think the idiot factor is high on Amazon (poor reviews). Or it really doesn't work well on T-mobile (I use ATT's network). It comes with Android 9 (which by itself is a nice upgrade, almost good as Windows Mobile*). The international version was shipped with chinese being the default. Five minutes of panic and reviewing the G5's settings I managed to switch it to 'merican. The seller had thoughtfully substituted a north american power supply and included a cheap case and screen protector I won't use (I refuse to put a condom on my phone). The G5 after 2 years had a cracked cover glass on the rear facing camera and the screen was coming unglued (either that or it was swelling up inside and about to blow!). Otherwise it continued to perform as new. *I still miss windows phones (nokia or MS) for under $50. We're all idiots. Moooooooooo.
