The house the kids go into, that's the Claremont House. It's located in Rome GA. I recognized it immediately, I've driven past it dozens of times. It's actually a Bed and Breakfast. The address is 906 E 2nd Ave, Rome, GA 30161. It's about five minutes from a bar/restaurant that I go to at least once or twice a month.
Back in the day it was the shit. Only place under 21’s could go catch a live show. I’d say I averaged 1.5x a week between 97-01.
You aren’t helping your reputation much by deciding to check it out once I say that it is (or at least was) a favorite hangout for high schoolers.
All seriousness, I thought I'd try some of the food. There's also a brewery right by it as well, I've been there a few times. They have a pretty decent roof top patio.
OMG is this fucking thing ever going to drop? I mean before it is thirty years from now and we are nostalgic for the 2020 nostalgia for the 80s and 90s. I do not know if I want to be looking back at this time. At least in the 80s I was too young to really get things until the end. I am not looking forward to how old I will be in the 2060s. What is the lifespan of a demogorgon anyway? Last i recall it was pretty friggen long. And since we are hitting the late 80's can we get with some Heathers references.
Good luck. That place just became a magnet for geeks and ST fans worldwide. I imagine you can't get near the place.
If you mean the deli, I doubt it will have any fans rushing to it. If you mean the Claremont House, unless you know the area I don't it will be. There's several buildings that are used in Douglasville that are used for the show, I've been by them as well. I haven't seen any crowds there.
Most of the time that I got to Rome is to have lunch on Broad Street, I've been going there for the last 5-6 years. Not too much has changed from I what I can see. The Rome City Brewing Company closed due to Covid. It was an okay place, decent choice of beers, but even before Covid it didn't seem like it would last. Turner McCall Boulevard has gotten a busier, at least from what I can tell from first visiting there about 15 years ago. It's still not very crowded or busy. Covid seems like it caused a couple of places to close down. Going down Broad Street it still feels like a small somewhat rural town, but going past Turner McCall Boulevard from East 2nd Avenue it looks more like a small city area. The arches are still there. It's quieter than where I live.
Yeah, it was a small town but downtown was decent by Southern standards… How’s Darlington? Mount Berry Square Mall (was new when I lived there but imagine it could be a ghost town today)…
Darlington School? I've driven by it on Cave Spring Road, on the way to Cave Spring, never stopped to look at it or visit. As for Mount Berry Square Mall, never been there. I was by it and Berry College A around a month or so back, went out to Cedar Bluff in Alabama and went by it on the way back. There's a a place called the Burger Shack in Cedar Bluff, small oldish looking red building. They have some of the best burgers I've ever had. So I really couldn't tell you how the Mount Berry Square Mall is.
So, while waiting for this to pop I decided to go back and watch the series again. If you want to do a refresher before this hits the show stands up pretty well in a second viewing. I even found the weaker 3rd season to be better on the second viewing. The horror and intrigue stands up. Even episode seven of season 2, where eleven joins a gang, seemed to fit in a lot better now that I knew what was going on. I would recommend trying to binge this to get some excitement for the fourth season before it comes around.
Season 4 is finally dropping broken up in two parts on May 27th, and July 1st. It'll be twice the runtime as the other seasons. Also, they've stopped hemming and hawing over whether or not this is the final season, they've been renewed for season 5. https://www.darkhorizons.com/stranger-things-sets-s4-dates-final-season/
Trailer!!! 2:44 Robert Englund!! Freddy Krueger is up in this bitch!! And, we've got a sentient Borg King boss-monster. And, we've got bat-things. Alien Dracula? Is the movie theme "Lifeforce"?
We will probably have to wait another year for them to edit out Nightmare on my Street after the oscars. Fuck you hand magnet Rock!.
