Sounds scary, but wouldn't "Study: Smoking No More Dangerous than Sitting" say pretty much the same thing, only with a lot less fear and panic? http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2011/06/08/healthwatch-sitting-vs-smoking/
Yeah, but then it's hard for them to keep justifying the Crusade, y'see. Hmm. No smoking. No driving cars that aren't battery powered. They tried the no drinking part, but they hadn't figured out yet that the people can overturn bad laws so hadn't started outlawing things without officially outlawing them yet. Is it just me, or are the various special interests trying to turn the American people into:
Didn't we have a thread on this already? Edit: Thought so: http://www.wordforge.net/showthread.php?t=86614&highlight=sitting
It's one of those "OMG, living causes dying!!!" studies. "Coffee causes cancer!" "New studies shows moderate coffee intake cuts cancer risk!" "Water causes cancer!" "Eating causes heart disease!" "Breathing contributes to risk of stroke and peripheral artery disease..." Jim Morrison said it best: "No one here gets out alive."
And what do intend have happen to those ashes? Please don't say you want your ashes and their urn to be a centerpiece on someone else's dining room table. I know a lady that did that and I've seen it. Just a "tad" creepy. I remember looking at my watch later seeing it was 11:30, thinking I gotta hurry up and get the hell out of here. She's gonna insist I stay for lunch if it takes too much longer to fix her computer.
People, some never make it out of their mothers. Others live to be 120 after spending 80 years chain smoking in France, some drop at the age 0f 30 of an aneurysm, others die at sixty of a stroke or heart attack. Sometimes 19 year olds have heart attacks out of the blue. Still others die calmly at 80, while many of us are left to die at the mercy of hospital staffs who won't leave us the hell alone while we're trying to sleep. Case in point, we all die. Whether we want to "live" or not is actually up to us. There is a difference between living and just "being alive." So, you can take your worries over caffeine, alcohol, marijuana, air, allergies, and live in your own shadow, but tonight, I'm going to have a beer. Who's with me?
Cremated? Unlikely, but I do want that ship ignited when they launch it. Viking funeral, bitches. I want half the tears to be in mourning and half to be your eyes watering from the acrid smoke rising from my ass. Just like when I was alive.
That's why there's no sense in wasting money on health care. No matter how good or bad the health care in a country, the death rate is the same all over the world: One death per person!
