Not great right now. The headache's gone but I'm feeling fragile. I'm far too old to be going out on an empty stomach and definitely old enough to know better.
Yeah. Recovering from last night's bender wasn't a lot of fun. As much as I enjoy the occasional binge drinking bout, my body charges too high a price the morning after now. Gone are the days when I could drink all night and not get a hangover.
In all my years of over celebrating, I've never uttered the words, "I'm never drinking again". That's a cheap copout for pussies, or Red Raiders, which ever term you favor.
I've never said that exactly. I HAVE said "I'm never drinking vodka again. Especially screw drivers." That was the day after I graduated highschool. And I have been faithful to my pledge ever since.
I can't drink vodka anymore either, but I'll never say I'm not drinking again. I just love Southern Comfort, red wine and spiced rum too much. I'll just make sure I eat before hand next time.
My scars from liquor are on the inside... Anytime I'm temped, I just have to remember rolling over and looking at Angie that morning before I went off to Basic.
I have no idea. Somehow her number got deleted from my phone. Enough, I have said enough on this subject. Discussion on the incident is considered Verboten around me (usually meaning it comes up every time we start really drinking and everyone has a good laugh ).
Daughter tends to avoid it, too. I think that might be down to the night that she and a couple of friends downed a litre of cheap red wine and a bottle of vodka to celebrate the end of A levels... I can't stand even the smell of gin... Other half leaves the room if someone is drinking Bacardi... I used to love Southern Comfort, but last time I tried it, I found it just too sweet...
The end of my bar exams coincided with my 22nd birthday and the end of a relationship, so we had a big celebration and I drank soooo much I was very ill for quite a few days. I haven't been able to drink vodka since. I have a serious sweet tooth, so Southern Comfort really hits the spot for me. One of Scruff's friends hates the smell, so I spent a lot of last night waving my glass under his nose.
All booze just needs time. And the right Killer App. As I have said, I had a bad experience with Tequila in 1987(?) Since then I'd had, maybe, 2 shots of the stuff on VERY special occasions. But I have since discovered classic margaritas. They's yummy.
