    So...Who's buying it?

I can't wait for this game. I wish I had the Wi-Fi thing set up in my house to play this online, but it'll still probably kick ass  I'm picking this up tomorrow, and probably play it after work.

It's gotten excellent reviews from all over the place... but that is to be expected.

I don't have a Wii so I'll stick with Melee for now.

Bought it last night at midnight release at gamestop.

It's pretty bitchin'. A lot of the familiar characters have been changed up since melee. For example, marth is pretty slow compared to his super-fast melee version. Ike is even slower (he hits like a truck though) but I was still able to win some online games with each of them.

I was looking forward to playing Meta Knight. He is pretty bitchin. His regular smash attack is kinda slow, but the rest of his stuff is really fast. Pit is awesome, he's really fast and has a really amazing ability to recover from falling off edges. The pokemon trainer seems really strong too, Ivysaur smacks the shit out of people.

Unfortunately, my friend who I was gonna play online with was having internet issues last night so we couldn't try it.

I did play online with some random people. I didn't experience any lag, although it did sorta take a while for matches to get loaded up at the start. Also, it took a long time to be matched with other players. I suspect this was a problem due to most people not having the game yet (I was playing last night).

I'm pretty good with meta knight :)

I haven't unlocked many people, but I'll continue to try. I beat co-op event mode on normal. SO MUCH FUN!

solid snake is really fun. I'm going for Sonic next to see how he does. I think it's 10 people beating the classic mode.

Quick question that maybe someone can answer:

My brother and I tried to play this game in two player mode, but the game/system didn't pick up the second controller, and we couldn't find anything within the game itself to manually add the Wiimote in there.

you press plus on the wiimote. Maybe you had both in the first port if one of you was using the gamecube controller and the other the wiimote. You'd hafta move it over one port, then pressing start/plus will do co-op in event and stuff.

I hadn't syncronized it yet, it turns out. The only other two-player game we have was Wii Play, which comes with a remote, thus syncho wasn't needed.

Back on topic, this game is very playable.:techman: I had to get use to the controls again since I hadn't played in a while, but the stages themselves are fun. I think one of them blasts canons at random intervals and another one has karts running around. Cool shit.

Super Smashes. Snakes is pretty cool- he hangs from a rope ladder on a chopper (close to the foreground of the screen, partially obscuring view) and fires a drum feed grenade launcher at the other players.

Neat little trick to get CDs/stickers fast (and coins too):

Make a stage with a single block in the middle.

Directly to the right of the block, make a line of conveyor belts that all roll toward the block (toward the left). (you need to make 5 stages first to unlock objects set B to make conveyor belts).

Directly above the block, make a line of conveyor belts that rolls directly to the right. Make sure it hangs over the edge a little, so that when stuff rolls off the edge, it rolls onto the lower belt, not onto the block.

Go to Brawl, set options so that the item drop rate is high, and the only item that can drop is a sandbag.

Then, use a second controller, and start a game on your new map with only players (no CPU). Position one character on the block, the other one on the belt directly next to the block.

The character on the block just sits there and does nothing. Use the character on the belt to repeatedly hit all the sandbags that keep rolling towards you.

Since sandbags sometimes drop items when hit, and they cannot drop other sandbags, and you have disabled all items other than sandbags, the only stuff that can drop is stickers and CDs.

I didn't come up with this idea, I just heard about it. I tried it out and got 4 CDs and probably 50 stickers in 10 minutes.

I also found out that some challenges require you to get a certain # of coins during coin battles. I never play these normally so I thought of a good way to kill two birds with one stone. I just connect 4 controllers and put 3 players on the belt, so that I am hitting them (and making coins fly out) at the same time that I am hitting sandbags. It doesn't really yield tons of coins compared to just playing in coin mode, but it DOES allow you to make progress on your coin totals while you are trying to get music unlocked.

Snake is the shit, he's fast, hits hard, can blow people up from afar, and his special ruins everyone's shit.

    Seriously. Best character ever.

Meh. His smash attacks are pretty fuckin' slow. King Dedede is a fuckin' beast. Still not sure which is my favorite.

I'm not a big fan of dedede myself. He was the first one I used, but it was odd working with him. Sonic is another one with a beast up b, and his regular b is pretty cheap. His final smash is pretty good too seeing as when he does it he can't kill himself by going too far. His map is pretty fun, too.

Sonic is too ADD for me. I can't figure out Dedede's smash moves, but up B seems to work pretty well for me. :D

Am I only the only one who thinks Final Smash is really, really cheap? Most of the characters my friends have played with use characters who's Final Smash pretty much guarantees everyone on the board is gonna lose at least one or two lives (Meta Knight, Diddy Kong, Sonic. It also doesn't help that those characters are cheap as hell, especially Meta Knight). I could be having a really good game, but then someone gets it and boom, I lose one or two lives and I'm out. And whenever I get it, it usually does next to nothing. But I'm the only one who hates it. They all claim it levels the playing field. It just seems like this giant Deus Ex Machina.

Also, I find myself to be really good with Lucas, and I love Wario's motorcycle.

I have more of a problem with the dragoon. I can't control it at all if I get it, but if my friends do it's all over.

I don't think it's any worse than using some of the larger legendary Pokemon in Melee, especially on a small stage like Battlefield.

Also, that Nintendog can really ruin your day.

Can someone with more playing time under their belt tell me if any of the "missing" SSBM characters can be unlocked (Mewtwo, Falco, Capt. Falcon, Roy, Jigglypuff)?
